Sorry guy, you are not in Toronto. Your signal reaches Toronto and even even into the US, but you are located in Oshawa. 

Is this because "back in the day" radio people were discouraged from taking time off? 

I didn't even turn on a radio yesterday. 

I was with my family.....on family day, ha!

Her post highlights a sad reality when it comes to the broadcasting industry but more importantly that radio is still "an old boys club".
How many of us grew up in this business only to be told that women perform news and traffic positions and if you want to be a jock, it's middays?
How many of us have been told "don't get pregnant? It will ruin your career. 
How many of us have been told "You're a mom now and you're not as good anymore" 
You're only in this management position because we need to have a woman in that job. 
No one will ever listen to an all female morning show or a solo morning show host that's female? 
How many of us have heard "if you tell people about this or you make noise after you leave, you'll never get hired anywhere else?" 


How many of us are still being told this in 2022? 

 

My favorite is the line from the Jurassic era that it's scientifically proven that women hear female voices differently than men do and women don't enjoy other women on air for that reason.  That's why you could never ever have an all female morning show.

I would absolutely LOVE IT if Mo had her own show on CFRB. Afternoons preferably, or a pair up with Jim Richards.

She could probably make a living being her own brand. She's super popular online as well. If I was her I would go the Youtube/Influencer route instead. Who needs traditional broadcasting when you have your own brand?

And Q certainly had a good book last rating. Now last time was not typical with all of the changes in the marketplace with the pandemic, but Q107 seems to have found itself over the past while. It will be interesting to see if everything holds for the September book. Sounds like weekday mornings are pretty solid. All those TV spots must be helpful.
