Never met Ben, but I did spend a bit of time with his father after he was no longer PM.  Flight from Toronto to Montreal.  Mr. Mulroney was a very nice man.  He was in in biz class and when I was returning from the bathroom I spotted him sitting there.  Hard to miss, only people in biz on a small jet.

I re-signed for 24 months at $5 a month.  One car can get it, don't use it much.  I have an old Google audiocast.  Hooked it up to the receiver in the house and cast from the SXM app.  I will cancel when the time comes most likely.

Well, not sure if I really had to do all the steps, but changed the region on my Sony to the USA, rescanned and sure enough it picked up the Buffalo ABC, CBS, NBC, WNYO (?) and Fox in ATSC 3.0.  ABC, CBS and NBC won't come in on 3.0 but will on 1.0  Confirmed in the settings that they were all ATSC 3.0 and Fox is interactive.

Guess I'm too far away from Grand Island and I believe the lower power output on 3.0 to have them come in.  Location is Whitby.

Stations that are on ATSC 1.0 and broadcasting in 720p or 1080i and have added ATSC 3 aren't doing anything spectacular with the new 3.0  At least in Buffalo.  I'm going to reset the Sony to the mighty US over the holidays and rescan and see if I can get any of the 3.0 Channels and if so, can the TV decrypt them...

I hear him on C2C sometimes, he's had a wide range of guests including interviewing musicians.  Nothing far right radical that I've ever caught on the shows.

When I got a refurb Sony TV from MTC, it had Nexgen.  I haven't changed the country to the US from Canada yet to test if I can even get Buffalo in ATSC 3.0.  Maybe I should.

All of these potential restrictions will just lead to an increase in piracy.. the exact thing they would like to avoid.

They can always pull out of Canada, geoblock their services and install VPN blockers as a way to thumb their noses at Canada.
I wonder how much they actually make here?
