Two longtime big names have left the city. Or make that The City. Veteran hosts Tracy Moore and Cheryl Hickey have left the Toronto TV station, after Rogers reconsidered expanding its Breakfast Television by another hour.
While Moore loses this gig, Broadcast Dialogue notes she'll still maintain ties with Rogers, working on a series of specials for the company. She's been with the station for over 20 years.
Tracy Moore and Cheryl Hickey part ways with Citytv

Yeah.. They said the same thing about Kevin Frankish. Live programming is expensive, dump it and pay for the sports!

Yes and Gord Martineau was supposed to return for some "specials." Don't recall ever seeing or hearing about them.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see one or the other, or both, turn up on The Social at some point.

'Working on a series of specials for the company' is the equivalent of politicians quitting 'To spend more time with the family'. Bullshit. She'll never be heard from again, at least with that network.

I remember that. I do however recall Martineau being on CFRB1010 as a pundit for a while though, but no Rogers!

The only "Special" would be the Herbie Fund.
It's too bad Rogers doesn't care to give the time of day for such a thing anymore.
Here's Gord's web page:

Coincidentally, Tracy Moore just had her 50th birthday earlier this month. Rogers doesn't have a great track record keeping women broadcasters once they hit 50.

The Herbie Fund was a big thing when Gord was with Pulse. It is too bad Rogers doesn’t care for such things anymore, just the bottom line.
