What happened to the Morning Buzz? The Dave-FM morning show seems to have disappeared including from the website. Don't know who was covering the morning show this morning but, in the bit I heard, it seemed like a screaming idiot.

Hmmmm. I guess ratings no longer matter-Dave always did very well in the ratings. Corus even had lots of press touting how they've remained this successful rock station and all.

I hope that Simon McGhee is still on afternoons. Excellent rock jock, he is funny, irreverent, comes across as everyone's pal. He is great with listeners on air. I heard him once on the weekend on a Corus A/C station in cottage country and he seemed as comfortable with the Taylor Swift and pop tunes as he is with Linkin Park and Foo Fighters on Dave. That's the mark of a good announcer.

A lot of people think screaming is entertaining now.
They think it adds to the rock format.

Currently he is filling in on mornings, I am not sure what the new lineup will look like. But my assumption is a cheaper morning show is coming, Maybe Taz and Jim or Tucker and Muara will add Dave to the roster.

I figured something was up. A few weeks ago, Dave Rocks started pulling in the same playlist that runs on FM 96/Y108. I suspect you'll see Taz and Jim on mornings starting next week.
And although the morning show wasn't great (could have been decent if the hosts were guided on what they were doing on-air), it's still sad to see anyone lose their job. Probably would have got the news on world radio day... how ironic.
This now leaves Waterloo Region with only two commercial FM radio stations still doing a truly local morning show (CHYM and Bounce 99.5).

So sad for local radio. There’s still the local CBC & CKWR too!!

Taz and Jim is/are the absolute most boring pair. Thank goodness I don't have to listen to them.

What about Magic 106? They still got a local morning show right? Well maybe they might get let go soon too and possibly the Fresh Morning show from 103.1 in London would take over soon right?
Now I don't listen to Taz and Jim very much but why does FM96 air Taz and Jim in the 6PM slot? As soon I hear them I tune to a different station. There is no need to hear them again in the evening. I wonder how Dave Rocks will do after The Morning Buzz Show was cut.

Yes Magic 106 does have a morning show. Lisa & Brent. Lisa Richards has been at Magic for years - on her own and as co-host of the morning show with Kevin Kelly (also the PD) , until he disappeared. A couple of others partnered with her for a while but they did not work out. Brent Richards used to do fill in but became the permanent co-host of the morning show several years ago.

His hair is real and he is Brent Freeman (not Richards-my typo above). He has been an Elvis impersonator.
