I would have thought they would have at least read the list of nominees or put list on one of the screen.  They way Al Pacino read out the winner without even saying "The Oscar goes to" and his delivery of the title Oppenheimer, I was watching and was saying to myself what did they win or was he trying to make a joke or something.  It was very anticlimactic and even the audience didn't seem to realize he had called the winner.

This has been airing on OUT TV in Canada for a couple of years now.  And it might not be what you expect.  It is not all buff people, every body type including those with surgical scars, amputations and mastectomy's have been on.  Every gender expression as been represented.  Binary non-binary and even a couple looking for their unicorn (look it up) to form a throuple.  The followup clips can be quite harsh where the date didn't work, some get ghosted and sometimes the one chosen doesn't show up for the 2-3 week followup session.  It is pretty much a typical dating show but you get to see, how would the British put it, all the naughty bits.   And yes to confirm it's obvious I've watched it.

A marathon but maybe too real especially if broadcast in the states.

They are not shutting their TV service.  They are simply under the number of subscribers to require a license from the CRTC.  They will operate as an exempt service until they ever reach the number of TV subscribers that would require them to apply for a license again.  Less CRTC administration for them if the operate as an exempt service.

I realize these were just demos but know your market.  The Winnipeg sample had an insert for Walgreens.  Unless I'm mistaken Walgreens does not have a presence in Canada.  Maybe not an AI fail but the people creating the demos obviously don't know the marker.
The copy sounded stiff, rather then saying tonight or tomorrow the AI used next to space each weather segment.  No human would phrase it that way.

Musk is the reason that when I used twitter, I blocked him.  The reason I have essentially stopped using twitter and the reason I will never buy a Tesla.  He is also the reason why I hope Space weather will bring down all the starlink satellites so that our night sky won't be polluted by his junky satellite netork.  The sooner that all his ventures crash and burn the better off the world will be.

The articles explicitly mentions TV and RADIO.  While I can see TV switch to streaming, to shut down radio has to be the dumbest idea to come out of the CBC board room in it's entire existence.  Data is expensive in Canada and there is no way I am going to stream CBC in my car.  Let alone fiddle with flipping between radio and streaming.  Talk about distracted driving.  I dread my first vehicle with an infotainment console.  Give me buttons and knobs I can reach in my sleep.  I listen to CBC at work, on the radio, and by policy I cannot stream it.  Catherine and the board are totally out to lunch if they think that they can shut down radio.

The only other players would be Stingray and BlueAnt.  Stingray would have to unload certain radio properties to make any deal fly.  BlueAnt might be too small but it would almost be full circle for some of the channels because Michael MacMillon was co-founder of Alliance Atlantis which Canwest bought.  They may have interest in the TV/Specialty side of Corus but not sure they would want to get into radio.  It might be a couple players get together to carve things up if the Shaw family wants to get out of things entirely.

I started watching CBC and their were times when I won't to say shush to those reporting.  Don't they have earpieces so they can be told when something is happening and turn it back to either the host or just the video.  In the end I turned to BBC World News.  CBC's banner was too big, placed too high and was too distracting.  BBC rightly had no banner, no bug and very limited commentary until after the service.  Even then it was just quiet interjections.   Would have loved to watch a Canadian feed but it felt like they had to brand it.  BBC did it correctly IMHO.

"Wrong impression" - no I think the impression was pretty clear however any handpicked "third party" investigator can suggest a different spin
"Regrets the way" - oh yeah we effed up.
"Toxic behaviour" - yeah who are going to turn that lens at - management, I doubt it.

Will this third party report be made public?

With the CBC getting ready to launch a FAST (Free Ad-Supported Streaming TV) News Service it might be a bit of a coup for them to sign Lisa LaFlamme as a marque anchor.  It would certainly guarantee CBC a lot of free publicity for the upcoming service should this come to pass.  Every news outlet and social feed would be full of the story should they sign her and instant eyeballs for the service.

I wonder what the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal, Canadian Labour Board and/or the CRTC would have to say about an executive who is quoted as saying he "enjoys destroying careers".   I would imagine Bell Media higher ups would be concerned about any of these Federal agencies coming in to study their labour practices.

I was at work and remember everyone exiting the building and getting on their cellphones.  I called my mom to tell her not to worry about the power failure, and she wondered how I knew her power was out.  She was more concerned when she learned it was as large as it was.  I lived in a strange pocket of London where the power was out until Saturday morning.  It was strange the lights came on, on the streets around me that evening (14th) and figured mine would be on soon only to continue to wait and wait.  Had to move food from my freezer to my sisters place as it dragged on.
