It's hard to believe that some people think a Beatle, of all people, could have come up with the most annoying Christmas record in history. But it's high on the list for a lot of people, who hope they manage to get through the next month or so without ever hearing it.
Good luck with that...
Is Paul McCartney's 'Wonderful Christmastime' simply… horrible?
What's your vote for the worst Xmas tune of all time?

That is also my least favourite Xmas tune. Has been for a very long time.
As much as I like the Christmas season, I find many of the songs we hear each year are tired old songs we’ve heard millions of times over the years. There’s been barely any new, original Xmas music in many years.

I'm glad the article cites Lennon's "Happy Xmas (War is Over)" as an unfair comparison given the two songs have differing goals. I find both songs to be rather forgettable. McCartney's for its over the top make-you-feel-good-iness. I dislike Lennon's effort just as much for its over the top make-you feel-bad-iness.

It’s like the author never even heard of”Christmas Shoes”

The Little Drummer Boy.
Who the hell made that piece of cringe crap up in the first place?
Sounds like pedophilia to me.

I was going to college in 1980 when “Wonderful Christmastime” was released and I could not stand it as being a keyboardist, I found the synth parts really cheesy. Fast forward to yesterday and I heard it for the first time this season and I didn’t smash the radio, in fact, it made me chuckle at its cheesiness, if that makes sense. Damn, I’m getting old and soft.
I vote “Last Christmas” by Wham! As the worst Christmas song of all time, and there’s no way I’ll change my opinion on that soggy sausage and “Fairytale of New York” is my favourite “modern” song (1988), swears and all!

It would probably take three pages to list all the Chistmas songs I loath and despise. Fortunately, I have been able to avoid the Holiday hits so far, with the exception of my trip to the dentist last week. They had CHFI on. Glad that the volume was low enough, it was barely audible while my teeth got cleaned.

The terrible McCartney song has the same effect on me as Spence commercials. I can’t turn it off fast enough.

Returned some empties this morning.
"Wonderful Christmastime" was playing.
I groaned audibly. The clerk and I had a brief exchange. He asked me if it was a Beatles tune. I corrected him that it was Paul solo. So low we shouldn't hear it.

With worst at the top of the list
Christmas Shoes - the title is enough to give me hives
close second Last Christmas
Wonderful Christmas Time - Once a season is enough
Never understood the hate for Little Drummer Boy
and I have to agree that Fairytale of New York is a modern Christmas classic.
