I don’t know if anyone here knows of this person , it seems that he had impressive credentials in the broadcast industry.
Some excerpts from his obituary:
“Ed's professional career commenced as a Broadcast Engineer at RCA in Montreal. During this time, he met his wife, Lucie, who is from Asbestos, Quebec. They moved to Toronto, where Ed took on the lead engineer role at Imagineering Ltd., a new company formed to design and build the Global TV network; his strength lay in deep theoretical knowledge of radio engineering and a natural ability to build to completion. Over decades, Imagineering designed and built broadcast properties across Canada and abroad, including first of a kind "JumboTRON" at the SkyDome in 1989, production facilities for the Atlanta Olympics in 1996, coordination of antennas on the CN Tour and countless AM, FM and TV properties.”

My late wife got caught up in the British idiom differences.

She came to live in the same rooming house as myself upon arrival from England, which was ran by a middle aged couple.

She was afraid of sleeping through her alarm clock on her first day on her job so she asked the husband if he could "knock her up" the next morning with reference to the British saying to wake me.

Needless to say this caused much hilarity as my late wife was not aware of the Canadian connotation of what she had asked for.

Between mace and paterson1 the ratio is almost right on.

The population of the USA is approximately 10 times that of Canada so I would expect the 3.5 million stated by paterson1 should equate to 35 million in the USA which approximates the 31 million from mace

From his Fb page last week

The show today was a tough one to get through, but I can honestly say that it was my favorite one.
These messages are just so kind and they really help with my peace of mind about the show coming to an end.
To answer the common question about the reason for it ending, it was a Bell programming decision. I don’t blame them and neither should you. Although the show was very popular, it did not bring in much revenue. The sales team never focused on it because it’s a weekend show. It’s unfortunate because the pet industry is a great market to tap into for financial return that could have kept me on the air. I could have focused on it more as well.
In the end, I can honestly say from that perspective that I’m surprised they kept me on as long as I did.

Lori Paris, who became both a mainstay of the airwaves during her decade as a Canadian Press broadcaster and a beloved newsroom leader, died suddenly over the weekend at the age of 46.

Paris developed necrotizing fasciitis after she fell while walking her much-loved dog this past week and died on Saturday morning at the Toronto Western Hospital, her sister said.

It would be classified as revenue to the business .... if he then bought carbon credits then that expense would offset the revenue charged to the customer.

As Joe appears to be so triggered by the charge I will be texting tomorrow morning and offering to send him the amount he was charged for the "carbon credit"

I think that what they are doing is conducting surveys and concluding that many, including some on this board, question the accuracy of their forecasts, notwithstanding the micro climate conditions around the GTA,

Perhaps weather forecasting should be eliminated because of the perception of the unreliability of the same.

The other option would be to gave a more localized forecast eg.

Today within the area of Dundas Street And Lakeshore Boulevard, Bay Street to Parliament Street there could be a 60 - 70 percent chance of 2 - 4 millimeters of rain. West of Bay to Dufferin 3 - 5 millimeters

I agree, I used to be involved in helping at festivals and parades and the city advised that we would have to pay a fee to SOCAN to cover royalty fees for the music being paid at the events.

My question is, if the music is freely available through Youtube and social media sites why should I have to pay for the content.
