In the '50's CBC TV ran The Plouffe Family ( originally a Francophone show) on both networks in English and French until 1959 and then revived the show as a mini series in the 80's. A great show that proved that people have the same trials, tribulations, joys and hopes no matter their language. It captured a time and place.

Had the luck to start my career at Canadian Marconi's CFCF/CFQR at 405 Ogilvy Ave.in Park Ex. A goldmine of history and knowledge.

Today's Country Music is not targeting farmers. That notion is long gone as much as many farms are owned by large corporate organizations.  According to the Globe and Mail article on November 18; "Between 1941 and 2021 the number of farms in Canada fell by approximately 75 per cent".

Peter Menzies is a well respected figure in the media world. He was in his time at the Commission and still is a sharp judicator with balanced values and common sense. The CRTC should value his input.

TVA cuts 31% of its workforce and makes major internal changes to move forward. This is a bellwether case.
TVA is a serious player in Quebec head-to-head with the CBC ( Radio-Canada) which is way better than the Anglo side, and Bell ( no comment).
Péladeau is no man’s fool and a strong leader with vision.  All this talk of relief from the manna of C11 & C18 are never going to save this industry.
This is global ( no pun intended) issue. Reorganize and find another way to do business. He not being busy reinventing is busy dying.

The obit in this morning's G&M is from the NY Times so the slant is truly American particularly that of oddly, Boston. Missed is his impact  in Canada. Roger Whittaker was in the 70's a huge star in Quebec. One of the most requested artists at CFQR-FM in the day. He reflected the  international flair that fit in well with the cosmopolitan vibe of Montreal then. Truly a troubadour for that era. RIP..

92.5 KiSS-FM a Rocker? Did they change format and drop Contemporary Hit Radio? When did this happen?
