Any idea which higher up at Bell Beth McDonnell is related to?

I like to switch around during the 6 PM news to see what everyone is doing. And that's where I caught an interesting and huge difference on one of the worst stories in recent days - the death of three young children at the hands of an alleged drunk driver on the weekend. You've likely heard about this awful tale by now.

What caught my eye (and ears) was what I saw on Global and CTV on their respective Tuesday night's 6 PM.

On the former, veteran reporter Catherine McDonald told viewers the family members could not be identified due a court-ordered publication ban.

Meanwhile, at almost the same time over on CTV Toronto, Beth McDonnell was not only ID-ing the late family members, but showing their pictures and publicly naming them on air. They also had an interview with a cousin, which would also identify the family.

So which one is it? There's either a publication ban or there isn't. Somebody really screwed up here and didn't get the memo. My guess is it was CFTO, because McDonald is a veteran crime reporter and she doesn't usually make that kind of mistake. Should be interesting to see what, if anything, happens after this.

Yes, I noticed The Rock's stream quality was terrible when I tried listening to Jeff Woods' Sunday show, as well I sampled another newly acquired Durham owned station Y91.9-also very poor stream quality.

Caught Jeff's show on Sunday by accident, did not know it was on, enjoyed it immensely.

Mike Bullard - 13 March 2021
Facebook

The Truth........its been 5 years since this hell began and my lawyer told me it would be cathartic to finally tell my side of the story after sitting in court on countless occasions and not being allowed to speak or refute the lies. Another reason I am doing it is because the P.I. my lawyer hired has been charged.with obstruction of justice for simply doing his job (something the police never did)

I dated Mulligan for 10 months during the course of that time she broke up with me 3 times and instigated getting back together each time. I am a gentleman so will not divulge reason(s) she wanted to get back together (in court she said she felt bad for me...only laugh I got that day was when judge rolled his eyes.

When I was charged initially I was released with no conditions. About a week later I was invited to Pam Seatle and Dave Eddies house for dinner with someone new I was dating (I had moved on) the person I was with was willing to attest (my case did not go to trial so she wasn't called) to the fact that Pam kept bringing up the situation even though I asked her to stop.  The next day Pam told Mulligan I asked her to intercede on my behalf (when we got to my pre trial Pam could not produce a text from me).

Three days later the Crown charged me with obstruction of justice and the courts made me live with a surety in Stouffville...in my opinion and her husbands that Pam was forced to do that and lie about it in card due to a personal issue that Pam didn't want to be made public....again I will not share. Pam's husband Dave told the P.I. that Pam was blackmailed in to lying over the personal issue.....looking back I can't believe I considered them friends.

As you know by that time 1010 fired me and Mike Bendixen said it was hardest thing he ever did (he is only a manager blaming him for my job loss and the latest round of 1010 firings is ridiculous it came from the top). Shortly after that charge my mother died of a heart a

Bell Media has announced dozens of more upcoming layoffs as part of its ongoing restructuring plan.In a statement released Thursday, Unifor — the union representing over 10,000 media workers across the country — said Bell had given notice to nearly 50 of its members.

Unifor is deeply concerned and outraged that @Bell Media has once again announced restructuring plans, this time, giving notice to close to 50 Unifor media workers.l— Unifor (@UniforTheUnion) June 27, 2024

Unifor said it was informed that 49 unionized positions could be impacted in a move that plans to relocate downtown Toronto news stations CP24, BNN, and NewsTalk 1010 to Agincourt, Ontario."The company plans on consolidating these stations with its existing CTV Toronto, CTV News Channel, and CTV National News," stated Unifor.

According to the union, the cuts impact production workers, ENG editors and supervisors, media services coordinators and technicians, graphic artists, and AV techs, among others.Bell Media confirmed in a statement that the reduction of 43 technicians had been announced on Thursday. "Bell announced in February a restructuring at all levels of the company and in all business sectors," stated a Bell Media spokesperson. "Since then, Bell has been working with its unions on the implications for our unionized workforce."Bell did not provide further comment on Unifor's report that 49 unionized positions were at risk.

The company said that no departures will occur until the period between August 30 to September 27.It added it will provide training and will be "offering voluntary severance packages and eliminating vacant positions wher
