It’s not a conspiracy – he’s admitted it himself. After 5 years of doing afternoon drive on Sauga960 AM, Richard Syrett heads into his final week at the station, doing his last program there on Friday.
He’s going to take his show on the road, doing the rest online via podcast and other methods. But he confirms he will still have a hand in traditional radio, hosting the syndicated U.S. overnight show Coast to Coast “3 or 4 times a month.”
Let’s face it, most of us never listen to Sauga960 and he was likely the most famous name on the station because of his “Coast” exposure over the years. (The show is no longer heard in Southern Ontario as far as I can tell.)
Now the question is who takes the slot? Even on a small station, afternoon drive is a fairly important time period. Will they transfer one of their existing hosts there or get someone new? The answer should come as soon as the end of the week.

I only know of Syrett from his conspiracy show that aired on AM740 after Big Band Sunday Night. I found him entertaining although I didn’t always buy what he was selling!

What is the direction of the station?
They might want to have someone in there who really knows Mississauga, since a local municipal election is coming up in late 2026.

Is Ed the Sock available? Maybe even a smelly old sweat sock? Does it really matter when no one is listening?

Ed may be too busy with the live overnight show on The Rock in Oshawa to take over this shift. But he and his wife already do a show on Sauga960.

He joins the Oblivion Pantheon of other far-right pundits leaving the public airwaves for the internet, such as Michael Savage, Glenn Beck and Bill O'Reilly.
Lotsa luck, loser.

I'm curious. What is your apparent obsession with every station for sale going ethnic? It's a limited format and won't work for everybody. I think there are already way too many of them in the GTA as it is, almost all of them paid program time. I cannot imagine more of these ethnic outlets you seem to want competing with each other and any of them making enough money to survive.
According to many of your posts, Whiteoaks should take most of the stations foreign language or religious and move on from there.
We already have three CHINs doing multi-lingual shows, RED-FM, CJRK-FM in Scarborough, CJSA-FM aka CMR, CJMR, CHKT, (Chinese), CIRF in Brampton, CHLO on 530 AM also in Brampton, CHHA the Spanish speaker at 1610, CINA in Mississauga for Indian ex-pats, CHTO for the Greeks at 1690 and of course, our old friend CHAM doing the Indo-Canadian community proud.
Not to mention WTOR from Youngstown, New York, which aims its ethnic programming towards Toronto. And yes, Sauga 960 already does ethnic programming in certain dayparts.
And I probably left out one or two.
Do we really need more of these? Can the market even support this many? I hope Whiteoaks tries something different with their new toys - but not this.

RA....Good point! It's also curious that Scarboroughbluffsradiof99 sometimes has perfect spelling/sentence structure and other times, not so much. My belief is that this person is misrepresenting their identity, as I noted a number of months ago..

From experience with neeti, A broadcaster that mostly runs ethnic stations will go behind the CRTC's back and swich to ethnic.
And, I said they should just swich to ethnic because in 2019 or 20, they applied for a half-time ethnic license and there talk programs are just low quolity, lower than 1010.
640 is better than them.
They have just became to far-right for canadian am radio.
And who's the real owner?
Is it sur sagar and ravinder singh panu?
Is it eliot ker?
Is it radio dhun?

As far as I can tell, Sauga960, aka CKNT-AM, is owned by a numbered company, 8159203. It appears to be owned by original founder Elliott Kerr.

I've never seen a fully correctly spelled post from Sbr99, who has gone on the record stating they use a voice to text type program due to their visual impairment.
