My condolences to the family but to be honest, I'm not sure it's high on my list of "must hears" and I'll probably just catch the highlights on the 6 o'clock news.

I am always curious when I see postings offering condolences to the family.   Will Mila or the children be reading this thread on the SOWNY forum?

Upper right corner of the screen showing Saint-Sauveur QB - Mr, Mulcair's residence.

Or is it?

Since when did "QB" become accepted short form for the province of Quebec?

Today?

Depending on whether you are French or English or wish to correspond by international mail the only generally accepted terms are Que. for English & Qc in French. The post office goes with QC as its internationally approved code.

So can we assume that whoever wrote "QB" sounded things out & heard Kew Bec in their head and there you go.

Jesus Christ CTV New Channel

I associate "QB" with Quarterback.  Maybe the CTV News Channel people were excited about this afternoon's NFL Pro Bowl (which was on ABC, not CBS.... so there's no risk of 60 Mintues being delayed).

There was dead air on CKNT on Saturday morning at 7:00 a.m. and again at 7:30 a.m.  I wonder if anybody noticed?

Under the open carrier I heard KZIM-Cape Girardeau MO and WERC-Birmingham AL at 7:00 a.m.

If it really happens and Rogers is william to pay him $500 million, maybe in addition to hitting and pitching (in 2025) he will also be able to read an occasional Japanese news segment on CFTR or maybe Omni-TV will initiate a Japanese program?

I missed the news conference.   Did the PM answer any questons about Bell's sale of CKWW, CHAM and CKOC?  And what has Pollievre had to say about CKDX becoming "Hot Country 88.5"?

I listened this afternoon and enjoyed the ultra-rare version of Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons' "December 1963 (Oh, What A Night)" mixed with Gino Vannelli's "I Just Want To Stop".

I'm have no doubt there have been other glitches like that.

Now I have  Gowan's "A Criminal Mind" mixed with religious messages.   But of course, that's just WHKW-Cleveland clobbering CFAJ as sunset approaches.

My 2021 Honda Civic has 6 AM and 12 FM presets.

The 6 AMs are set to 590, 680, 940, 1010, 1230 and 1570.   940, 1230 and 1570 are for DX starting/jumping off points.   I suppose if I wanted to listen to 1050, I would use 1010 and move up four spots.   And if I wanted to hear ranting about the Buffalo Bills I can just tune down fro 590 to 550.

FMs are 88.1, 94.9, 97.3,, 99.1, 102.1, 107.1 and 107.9 on the first tier.
....and 91.7, 97.7 on the second tier.  I forget what the other four are currently as they get changed..but they are  for FM DX possibilities (like 88.7).

I guess if you're going to go all the way into the middle of nowhere, you better make sure you get what you came for. If AM ever gets eliminated, so will their hobby.

I don't get the humour. But then I've never seen an episode of Breaking Bad.

It makes sense if you ever watched the show.    It sure beats seeing Aaron Paul on the Bet 365 spots numerous times during every hockey and football game (when Wayne Gretzky and Connor McDavid aren't shilling for BetMGM).

If you want to hear a real radio play-by-play of the Indians Guardians- Blue Jays game you can listen to WTAM on 1100 right now.     And instead of spots for Jack Links and the Armstrong Bird Seed you can enjoy the Chick-Fil-A Double Play Inning and commercials for Legacy Roofing and Progressive Insurance.

The irate Redskins fans who showed up the NBC Richmond studios makes me think of the tragic story of Roy Spencer, the father of former NHLer Brian Spencer.   (Roy driving to CKPG-Prince George to force them at gunpoint to show his son's first game with the Toronto Maple Leafs as opposed to the scheduled Golden Seals-Canucks on Hockey Night In Canada)

Moderna booster at The International Centre before New Year's.   I was jabbed one minute before my appointment time.   Aside from a sore arm the next day, no complaints.

To make my reply about radio....Although I was inside Mississauga, I did not listen to 960-CKNT or 1320-CJMR.  I also did not listen to CFMJ or CFRB.    I believe I was boncing back and forth between CIND, CFNY and CILQ, depending on what songs were being played.

Maybe CHFI will play the Kinks' "Father Christmas" instead of Mariah Carey?
