Hardly average listeners here... on this board CFRB and 640 are likely to be at the top, so the results will be meaningless.

I just got the above notice from Rogers... I know they've been using the Comcast platform, I wonder if it's a licensing requirement all of a sudden? Xfinity of course is what it's called in the US.

Devin Scillian is a great anchor and retiring at 62 is a perfect time even though he was offered a new 3 year contract that would get him to 65. Sometimes leaving a little earl is better. Lots of talent at ch4 but no clear leader to succeed him (in my opinion). I wish Devin and his wife all the best in retirement.

I agree,,, the last 2 new cars I've had came with a young guy who would spend a half hour or so with me to explain all the electronics. I had to go back a couple of times but he was always helpful. Instruction manuals are highly over rated.

In the late 60's I listened to CHYR, it was a pretty good 'wannabe BIG 8' sound... I was in Stratford and when the frequency change happened, try as I might I never found the night time signal. Apparently it was a very weak power output.

The appointment is getting some blow back....
August 19, 2024Treaty One Territory, ManitobaAMC CommunicationsTreaty One Territory, Winnipeg – The Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs (AMC) is offended and disappointed by the recent appointment of Charles Adler to the Senate of Canada as recommended by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to represent Manitoba.AMC is alarmed because Charles Adler’s past comments, in which he referred to Indigenous people as “uncivilized boneheads” and criticized First Nations Leadership and communities with grossly offensive language, are a stark reminder of the systemic racism that plagues our society. These are not just passing remarks. They were and still are hurtful, but they also perpetuate harmful stereotypes and misconceptions about First Nations now that this is once again being brought to light because of this appointment. The AMC filed formal complaints against Adler’s vulgar and racist commentary in the past, and it is obvious that Canada and the Prime Minister have turned a blind eye to these offensive views when making this appointment to the Senate. The AMC is asking both the Governor General of Canada and the Prime Minister to reconsider and recall this appointment as they view it as a step backward in the ongoing efforts towards reconciliation and the recognition of First Nations rights in Canada.Grand Chief Cathy Merrick expressed the collective outrage felt by many: “The appointment of Charles Adler to the Senate is a grave insult to all First Nations in Manitoba and across Canada. Senators are supposed to be accomplished Canadians from various professional backgrounds. They introduce bills, propose new laws, suggest amendments to legislation passed by the House of Commons, review public policy and debate issues. His racist comments do not indicate a modicum of respect, equality, and justice that are supposed to guide our society. How can any First Nation feel that his reviews

I've seen some cryptic messsages on Facebook suggesting that Kitchener's 91.5 The Beat and 107.5 Dave Rocks are moving into the Guelph building where Magic 106.1 and 1460 CJOY are located and that CJOY will just be a box in the computer rack (which it seems to be already from posts on here).
I suppose Corus owns the building in Guelph while leasing space for the two Kitchener stations so it would save some cash but does anyone know if it's true or just speculation? I haven't been able to find a definitive answer.

This was an issue at Comerica Park NOT the broadcaster. It has apparently happened before in Detroit. Blaming the Canadian broadcaster is unfair, the US Broadcaster Bally was also affected as well as the in staduium replay capability. I don't often defend Rogers but this criticism is unjustified.
As several have mentioned, including Jays Manager John Schneider... it was old school baseball. I actually enjoyed watching them work through the issues until full power was restored.
