CKVR has been a opening to the Toronto market and beyond for newscasters for many years.   Sadly Bell and their cuts dont have much going on anymore in Barrie.  When I drive by the station there is just a few cars usually there under the massive tower. 

I just discovered there is a LITE 99.3 based out of Meaford (living in Barrie) signal is weak here though. 

If you have an iphone, the music app inbedded on the phone or, "Apple Music" even with no subscriptions pulls in all tunein stations (which houses pretty much everything) and the iheart stuff.....FYI.  

Stumbled on A live link to the camera on the CKVR Tower in Barrie.  Comes in handy for weather!

Times have changed - I dont think people will be waiting around on their tv or radio and if they do we have channels like CP24 and 680 News - for social media its Instant Weather Ontario page on Facebook which is top notch 

Still can't believe Beyonce is country artist of the year.  Never watching again that was the nail in the coffin.  Its all rigged. 

Just discovered this app today on the app store on my phone - amazing for a radio lover.   Shows the longley rice coverage maps aswell which I only seen for TV up until now.   Very good to see detailed coverage and up to date transmitter locations.

Voices radio was a good one I listened to it often.

Haha yes I remember this.  Luckily you can see stars here in Barrie!

Anything East end is a No-Go.  Horrible location.

Yes, but with a Canadian twist. The old USA Network I used to watch on my C-Band satellite dish decades ago was really good, making a lot of its own shows. Now it's mostly reruns of the various Law & Orders. Hope the Canadian one is better.
