If you watch the story, CTV news never did find any snow in the bike lanes, they were relying on video from social media. I would think that there never was a story in the first place. But it was still the lead story. And you wonder why more and more people no longer watch OTA TV news.

Add to that the reaction of our own prime minister. Carney cancelled both a Halifax meeting and an overseas event in Germany so he could stay at home and deal with this horrible tragedy. If that doesn't signal how important it is I don't know what does.
Not to mention that news organizations' across Canada sent reporters to BC to cover the story at great expense.
All this and, as RA notes, CTV led with slow snow cleanup in the GTA.
Buffalo's WGRZ-TV for quite a while used the shopworn phrase "2 on your side" to trumpet their news department efforts in looking into local matters. So much that I rebranded their practice as "2 on your nerves." 🤨
Looks like CFTO took the same tack regarding recent events.

It's amazing to me that almost all the Buffalo stations lead their news with weather. Every single day. At least in the winter. Doesn't even matter what the forecast is.
I guess that's just how important the conditions are to a city that regularly gets blasted by snow during the coldest season of the year.

Au contraire, perhaps the CFTO newsroom would be in much better shape today had you been a part of it.
I doubt that, but thanks for the compliment!
You would have been great, which is why the Bell bean counters would have recommended you be laid off, probably right after one of their Let's Talk days.

I was watching Pauline Chan last night, a Saturday. And she's directly quoting the lyrics straight from Trump on his social media. Pauline was making it sound as if CUSMA was dust. Echoing the ravings of a clown!
They need better people there. I don't like any of the wizards who read Teleprompters.
