People don't like hearing this, Trump was a democrat for most of the time he was partnering up with Epstein. Reducing the Epstein Network into Republicans vs Democrats and MAGA vs non-MAGA misses the mark completely. This a transnational organized crime network beyond politics.

The Epstein files if not destroyed yet, would feature prominent members from the Bush admin, Obama admin, Trump admin, and Clinton admin. The network is embedded across all political backgrounds, that's not even counting the European, Saudi, Israeli, Russian collaborators.

It's why Trump is tossing out so many desperate distractions -- there are probably so many people implicated by this pedophile ring, including whatever criminal network or intelligence agency running it, that the everyday citizen would never trust anyone in the American upper class (be they politicians or rich philanthropists) again.

If Trump has to start WW3 with Iran or Russia just to get the news media and influencers to stop talking about Epstein, I have no doubt he would.

CTV News at noon reported on this story with one extremely salient fact left out. They told viewers about the demand for the teams to revert to their original names - without ever telling viewers what those former monikers were. I realize they were trying to not offend viewers or the Indigenous community, but it's a pretty important part of the story, especially for those who may not follow sports. 

Saying "Redskins" or "Indians" in the context of this already ugly tale is not an insult - it's a vital part of the facts and why the names were changed in the first place. CTV doesn't do their viewers any favours by omitting them in the name of political correctness. I don't like the names either - but if you're going to report the story, tell viewers why this is such a bad idea.

I agree that JD Vance is hardly a threatening figure (although let's keep in mind that prior to Nazi Germany, nobody took Adolph Hitler seriously either, he was ridiculed and mocked by all except for his cult of followers which grew and grew).

When I say JD Vance might even be worse than Trump is not because JD Vance himself is a bigger threat but because Vance is beholden to tech billionaire Peter Thiel, and Thiel is someone who has gained a lot more political power and influence after the 2024 election.

Just as Trump is just a meat puppet for the Heritage Foundation's Project 2025, basically signing executive orders written by the foundation often not even aware of what he's signing (this has been noticed a few times), JD Vance would just be Thiel's meat puppet, signing orders that would fulfill what are Thiel's agenda to turn the United States into a surveillance state where citizens are kept in line by a social credit system (similar to what China has today, but much more unified).

Thiel is kind of the worst-of-the-worst of Trump's people in the background silently giving orders to reshape America (get rid of all brown people, destroy the economy, establish close ties with Russia, restore America to a purely Christian country, etc).  He's a far-right Christian billionaire who has openly expressed anti-democratic and authoritarian beliefs about how the country should be run. And if Thiel wants Vance on the 2028 ticket, the GOP will comply.

And quite frankly it doesn't matter if Vance is electable or not, the GOP will cheat their way to victory just as they have in the past (and yes, I still stand by the belief that the Democrats won in 2024, not the Republicans). Greg Abbott was already talking about gerrymandering again this past week, and let's not forget that the GOP passed the SAVE Act not that long ago which makes it harder for millions of Americans (women, non-whites in particular, who tend to support the Democrats) to vote...  the right-wing parties have a far bigger history of cheating to win because I honestly don't think the average joe is going to vote GOP (or Conservative) to help billionaires get tax breaks or privatize healthcare so he/she can go bankrupt from medical bills.

We have to remember that cognitive dissonance is a real thing - the longer someone has been fooled by a con, the more difficult it is to admit to yourself that you've been played for a sucker. It's only when the pain has become so unbearable, that they have no choice but to admit they were wrong.

Does anyone else see the irony in the fact that Paramount+ - owned by CBS - just signed a contract with South Park producers for 50 more episodes? The fact it airs on that streaming service is almost too much to take in.
