Last night's D'oh Canada episode, offended people from Newfoundland as they were portrayed as being a bit simple and being seal killers...
Mind you, the episode poked fun of SNC Lavalin and CFRB reporter Lucas Meyer was the voice of PM Justin Trudeau too, so job well done,
Here is the link to both the reaction from those on the Rock (Newfoundland) and the clip with Lucas Meyer, watching him play Justin Trudeau...
My thinking is the Simpson's poke fun at everything and if you take this too seriously then you might have some issues... You need to take it in stride and do your thing...
Here is the Lucas Meyer clip
Chime away Big Yella!

I don't see what the big deal is. Seems to me that they've made fun of Canada in the past.... the CFL draft; Bart & Milhouse visiting Toronto; Homer coming to Canada for drugs; Robert Goulet playing Bart's Treehouse Casino, etc.. It's not like The Simpsons hasn't attempted to pick on other stereotypes (South Asian shopkeepers; Scottish groundkeepers; shady huckster lawyers, mobsters, hillbillies, born-again religious neighbo(u)s, etc.)

A handful of people getting annoyed over it on social media doesn't amount to much, but the media reports it as if it's a big deal. Must be a slow news day. I thought it was hilarious. And don't forget that they gave upstate New York a rough time too.

meanwhile, have you seen the new "coffee crisp" tv spot? it features a priest listening to a confession yet his main focus is on sneaking a bite of the candy bar. i wonder if the spot will result in a protest, since "confession" is a catholic sacrament? I also wonder how the concept was ever approved (considering today's pc mania)?

I haven't seen the episode (not a regular Simpsons viewer) but it appears that it's not just a Canadian issue. New York politicians are complaining about the episode's portrayal of the Empire state.
It seems that no one can take a joke anymore.

I saw this earlier today. While not personally offended by what I take to be satire; I nontheless admire Mr. Moss' personal decision to pass up on potential financial gain. Talk is cheap, but his decision speaks volumes as to his beliefs.

Homer was apparently unaware of Canada's health care system in this episode.
Except, Homer knew about that. In the episode where Bart has a crush on Wolfcastle's daughter, the Simpsons end up going to Toronto to visit the set of his latest movie. Homer deliberately gets hit by a car because Canada has free health care.
Not to sound too much like comic book guy, but lazy writers offend me.

people may watch The Simpsons, but do they enjoy The Simpsons??? 🤔
Re: political correctness. Will Rogers once said we take our comedians seriously, and our politicians as a joke. Guess for better and worse, some things don't change ....

Look at the election in Ukraine where a comedian who played the president now is on the cusp of assuming the position...

Yeah and Saul, let's not forget the U.S. President had a "reality" show...now he has an "I can't believe what he's doing" show
Thanks everyone for the comments too...I am glad when I can post items that click!

Love it or hate it, FOX has renewed The Simpsons for seasons 31 and 32 bringing the episode total to 713. When asked for a comment, Homer reportedly quipped "Watch your back Meet The Press" Now That's funny! Or maybe I have a warped sense of humour that no one understands.

For a series that has been around for 30 seasons, The Simpsons does not have a spectacular record when it comes to Mr. Neilsen. The series has cracked the top 30 only four times in its history. It finished #28 in the 89-90 season with a 14.5 share. The other three times, the series finished 30th in 1992-93, 1997-98 and 2015-16.

It still hasn't caught up in age to one other TV comedy classic.

Roman Catholics don't have an inferiority complex.
Used to serve Mass with Fr. Pat in high school, that and yearbook kept me from falling asleep from boredom (and got me out to handle midweek funerals).
