Hard to listen to, too much talk and find conversations somewhat infantile.  Perhaps that is the direction Evanov wants to go. If so, bye bye 92.1.

Bye Bye Lite 92, today's morning bodies are hard to take, perhaps as a retired AM guy it's my age.  Enjoyed BC radio, (before computers) and we didn't need the extra voice.  Ahhh, the days of annouce-op!

John Biggs pulled mid week from mornings, new unknown voices this morning.  Last few years, Lite 92 has difficulty

Normally heard on Brantford's Lite 92 is morning man John Biggs.  Not there this morning and all references to him on the station's website are gone.   No mention of his absence heard by current on-air fill in.  Another Evanov move?

The handling of Blue Jays star Vladimir Guerrero by the team's brain trust Shapiro and Atkins is a fiasco.  Failing to sign him before Ohtani and Soto was a disaster.  That said, 500 million for ten years is very questionable given that players seldom remain viable after five.  This year's Jays' "upgrade acquisitions" made this spring are a bunch of no-names devoid of any decent stats.  Included are the desperate signings of veteran Anthony Santander, a one-year, 15 million dollar has-been and Max Scherzer, a 40-year-old pitcher on his way out.  Shapiro and Atkins failed to bring a winner in Cleveland after 15 years and here in Toronto, we're in year ten and still counting.

It is hard to image how any of the current idiotic, senseless, moronic DoorDash spots can generate any message intended. Superette, DoorDash's in-house agency calls itself "a creative studio".  That's debatable, Superette must think anyone who uses DoorDash is 10 years old.

Let's hope the opener isn't indicative of what we can expect after the questionable moves Shapiro and Atkins made to the team this season.   It's ten years and counting for Rogers to endure these two to come up with a winner.  A multi-million dollar renovated stadium does not count.

My son and I went in Hudson's Bay Kitchener Thursday at noon, went to the basement to purchase some bed linen and we were the ONLY ones there and had to search for a clerk as well.  No wonder they're bankrupt.
There was a time a few years ago I recall shopping at the Sears store there, and it was bustling.

How the mighty have fallen.  CFRB 1.1 only proves corporations such as Bell should not be approved to own a radio station.  They are just a bottom line organization and have no idea how to successfully operate in broadcasting.  Doesn't look good on the CRTC.  CFRB 1010 a sad case today.

The deterioration of radio in general and CFRB is particular is a sad commentary and the result of the usurpation of broadcasting by large corporations, mark that, Bell.  As a senior growing up with the original CFRB from the 50’s and 60’s, much of today’s AM programming is routine, repetitive and in many cases lacking in professional broadcasters.  An opiniated voice deficient in radio experience is not a recipe for success. As a retired former Toronto ND during BC radio (before computers), it’s difficult to hear what is purported to be acceptable broadcasting today.

It’s the same, old same old.  The end-of-season Blue Jay Sermon on the Mound by Shapiro and Atkins just repeated what we’ve heard for the past nine years, “We’ve got to do better.”  They both talked a lot but said nothing about how they are going to improve the team.  It is unfortunate that Edward Rogers, the owner of the team, is not baseball savvy and is only concerned about his bottom line.  If that is the case, if attendance and the sale of the high-priced beer and food hits the basement he may wake up and make the necessary changes to bring back this team as a winner. Shapiro and Atkins spent 15 years in Cleveland at the helm and did nothing and yet Edward Rogers hires them, I rest my case.

Charlie Hustle has died.  Pete Rose passed away on September 30th at the age of 83. a career that spanned 24 seasons won two World Series titles with his hometown Cincinnati Reds.  One of the game’s greatest players had more hits than any other player ever. In 1986 Rose unofficially retired as a player.  Managing the Reds in 1989 there were allegations about his betting habits, never admitting to betting on his team.  Unfortunately, Rose received a lifetime ban from Major League Baseball for betting on baseball while he was still an active manager.   The hype about the Pete Rose issue seems very hypocritical.  Today any TV baseball game is rife with betting advertisements between each inning encouraging wagering on the game.  Given today’s betting climate, perhaps Charlie Hustle’s banishment is questionable.

The recent expansion by Global News of its evening report from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm is a disaster.  It is difficult to determine the reason.  The expansion includes unnecessary repetition of similar news stories, and devotes extension time to "soft' or human interest material which consumes valuable reporting time.  Antony Robarts reads well but should be a reporter not an anchor. The original news hour suffered under some of the same issues but at least was diverted by weather information.  Unless there is a major on-going news event of some severity, it is a chore to maintain viewer interest.  With the time extension, you will lose some original viewers because of repetition and perhaps affecting sponsorships.  It is a challenge to fill one hour of a news program with original material in order to retain the viewer.  Any extension of time is superfluous which really questions the recent Global News staff changes.

Normally when watching the Jays play, the radio audio is on and TV audio is off.  Unfortunately with no Jays game on local radio in the afternoon, the only alternative is to resort to endure the TV audio broadcast.  It's really impossible to enjoy the game with the incessant dialogue by Shulman and his guests much of which is not game related.  Give it a rest Dan.

Rogers neglecting the Toronto Blue Jays??  Really?  They just spent a boatload of cash to turn the Rogers Centre into a real ball park.  The Jays sit at #9 out of 30 teams in MLB in terms of payroll, at about $218 million per year.  So I don't know how you can call this neglecting the team.  Yes we can question coaching and any of the moves the team makes in terms of players and staff, but that isn't neglect.  More like poor decisions..

Renovations = higher ticket prices (profits), high payroll = initial bad extended contract decisions, 15 years in Cleveland = no winner, nine years in Toronto = no winner!  No reaction from Edward Rogers re:  Shapiro and Atkins failure to succeed.
I rest my case.

The insatiable appetite of Edward Rogers to control the sports scene in Toronto has taken another step.  Rogers’ domination of the sports market in the city is evident with his recent purchase of Bell’s investment in Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment for $4.7 billion dollars.  Bell is out Rogers is in.  MLSE owns the Toronto Maple Leafs; the Toronto Raptors; the Toronto Blue Jays, the Rogers Centre and Sportsnet, the Toronto Argonauts and Toronto FC Soccer Club.  That just leaves MLSE chairman Larry Tanenbaum, with his 20% and 5% owned by OMERS, a Canadian pension fund.  It’s only time before the Toronto’s sports teams are neglected the way The Blue Jays have been.  It’s all about Rogers’ bottom line and no more.  You only have to look at Rogers’ failure to devote interest in the Jays, it will be mirrored in their other sports entities.  What the city lacks is a sports-minded enterprise, not a profit-obsessed corporation who doesn’t know a hockey puck from a catcher’s mitt, and could care less.

As a former ND in the 70's for a Toronto station it is difficult to understand why many of today's broadcast owners have relegated their "News Departments" as surplus.  Having given up on the tedious and routine CFRB months ago, Residing in Kitchener, Lite 92 Brantford is my current music target since 'RB.  Yet, today the co-host on Lite 92 read the 8:00 am news and said she read the news for two other stations as well.   Conclusion:  There are two other stations that appear to lack any news departments and any qualified news reporters/readers.  The part that radio news plays in today's broadcast content is failing the listener.  Gone are the days when radio was relied upon for up-to-the-minute information.  Only proves why the pseudo broadcast corporations should get the hell out of broadcasting.  I assumed that in order to retain your broadcast license certain perimeters were required such as a news department.  Where is the CRTC?
