I watched the season on Gem and it was quite enjoyable. Nice to see it getting lots of positive reviews in the US.

I’ve been listening occasionally to 740 in the past few months and really enjoy “Midnight Blue” with Ziggy.  She typically plays great old “naughty” blues music (1930s and 40s) along with more recent songs that fit the format.  Her low key commentary has just the right amount of snark!  Now there’s a show that I wish what a podcast - I’m not always listening to radio between midnight and 1:00 AM.  

The Vast of Night is a tremendous little sci-fi film (budget was $700K)- available on Amazon Prime.  Pontypool is a great Canadian horror film.  It’s essentially about a zombie virus that spreads through the English language.  The story centres around the radio station in the small town of Pontypool Ontario.

As someone who let many people go during various layoffs, I know that HR was very strict about what gets said during the termination meeting with the employee.  

"Just stick to the script" they'd say. "Due to changing business conditions, effective immediately you are no longer an employee of xxx company."

They would allow me to give a brief thanks to the employee (if I wanted to), then say that the HR rep will go over the termination package.  Short...and not sweet.

If Jivani's account is accurate, for Bell to tell him that his termination was due to "changing business conditions", then in their response document essentially say that it was performance related probably had Jivani's lawyers grinning from ear to ear.

Imagine if the Queen had to deal with the female dominated patriarchy!   I suspect that the social media editor is “quietly quitting”.

Some of the comments in the Statement of Claim sound similar to some of the issues raised by Lisa LaFlamme:

"Ms. Whyte (General Manager) did attend, and informed him that his employment was being terminated “as a result of changes to the organization.”

"I want to be sure we are reflecting the company’s strong commitment to Diversity and Inclusion, and that we are building passion in our audience and growing our ratings. We are incredibly challenged right now in both ratings and revenue, and it’s critical that we remain aligned."

Maybe replacing Lisa Hepfner, now that she’s an MP?
