Today is CP24's last day at 299 Queen St W.
In an article in The Star, says CP24 moves today, and BNN will move in the third quarter of 2025, so roughly a year from now.

Will there be a temporary set for CP24 in the meantime? I do remember CTV Kitchener using a temporary set at 864 King St during the move last year. Here is the video from CP24's Breakfast and Lindsay Deluce who used to be the anchor at CP24 made an appearance now does Your Morning for CTV.

You would think they've had a few months, they should have made some space for CP24 in a studio.

Here is the last Live at 11 newscast from 299 Queen Street West.

Those grey pillars look like they came from the old World Beat News set. Congratulations on moving an entire 24/7 news operation to a Scarborough bedroom!

Watching this afternoon, Bakari and Steve Ryan look like they are in a closet with an annoying moving background.

The backdrop looks really odd. Thumbs down.

If for some reason you don't get CP24 and want to get a look at the new set-up, you can watch it live over the web here.

It really was bad. Why did I expect anything innovative? The window behind the host will be missed.

It looks like they took leftovers from other shows sets and threw them together, the brick wallpaper is pretty lame! Too bad, it was once an interesting looking set. The mighty Bell Media has really declined since the Randy Lennox era.

The lighting is not up to snuff either. I could see one anchor's full dark silhouette on the backdrop.

The whole CP24 brand was vibrant, off the cuff, we're right there on the ground covering the stories as they happen in the heart of our city.
The CP24 team is going to have to be inventive and determined if they want to keep their street cred.

Yes, it looks like Bell really cheaped out on the set and lighting. The station now has a community cable TV feel to it.
That is a shame since CP24 appears to be a very popular channel and is jammed full of commercials and banner ads on the busy video screen. Penny wise, pound foolish.
I thought that CTV out in Agincourt had lots of studio space and room. They sure look cramped from what I have seen on CP24. Let's hope this isn't permanent.

Yes TSN has some large studio sets, as does CTV National news. I always thought the CTV (CFTO) Toronto local newscast set is too large and overdone. CFTO local news ain't what it use to be..

The younger part of the CP24 team are going to be looking for new jobs.
They’re going to have a serious staffing issue.

Good point RadioAaron, however, if the younger part of the CP24 team want to still work in broadcasting, their options are limited. Everyone has cut back, not too many TV job posted these days and absolutely no job security, maybe best to stay in Agincourt, suck it up and get a pay cheque!

I'm hearing rumours CFRB may be forced to vacate its Richmond W. HQ soon, forcing workers all the way out to Agincourt. I'm sure John Moore will enjoy that drive at 3 AM on a winter morning!

Yikes! Jim Richards might not like that too much either, living in Leslieville, bit of a hike!

Will that happen to CKFM 99.9 Virgin, CHUM 104.5 and CHUM-AM 1050?

I believe TSN1050 was moved a while back...don't know about the two FMs.

I have to repeat I'm just going on what I heard from a source, but it's not confirmed. But I have to believe all the stations would move. It would seem Bell could get a pretty penny for that historic complex downtown. That might well be the ultimate goal.

Here's a look around their first day in the new location

So I watched CP24 a couple of times this week hoping the new set might grow on me. Unfortunately it didn’t. In fact, the more I watched the more cramped it seemed. Too bad, but I don’t think Bell Media cares what the viewer thinks anymore.
