A Land Where TV Is Now Only Allowed On Radio

There's no question about the harm the Taliban have inflicted on Afghanistan and their return to ruling that land despite a long war to remove them is a tragedy for the people who live there.

But just when you thought this group of religious fanatics could not get any more outrageous comes this announcement: the government there has decided to convert all of its TV stations to radio only.

Why?

The group has suddenly decided that broadcasting images of living beings is a no-no and so will turn off all the pictures from the boob tube and make them audio only.

It's hard to imagine this group of rigid crazies getting any more ridiculous in their bizarre beliefs. But with this move, it seems they've managed to accomplish just that.

This is just an interim measure as they dust off the wireless telegraph systems, and that's only while they get the fires started for smoke signals.

Somehow this doesn’t surprise me. The Taliban are primitives who should have been dealt with long ago. They’ll ban breathing on Mondays next….

Well, we did help overthrow the secular government of Najibullah because they were backed by the Soviet Union - and we did it in the name of freedom!

Well at least they'll never have to watch the Kardashians.  Or Duck Dynasty.
