Nationally, the CBC carried Saturday night games from 1931-76 and Sunday night games from 1965-76. For the Leafs, Norman Albert began doing games Feb 14, 1923 on 770 CFCA. No more local information is available until 1929-31 when Foster Hewitt took control of the mike on CFCA. From 1931-33 the games were available on CFCA and 860 CFRB. From 1933-51 CFRB had the Leaf games to themselves, the latter three on 1010. CKFH took over from 1951-78 and 1980-81. 99.1 CKO had the games from 1978-80. CJCL took over from 1981-95, Q107 from 1995-99, CFYI/CFMJ from 1999-2012. Since then FAN590 and TSN1050 have split the broadcasts. As for the Canadiens, English Coverage is extremely spotty. From 1954-62 600 CFCF broadcast only Thursday home games. From 1952-65 a radio simulcast of the Saturday HNIC games were available. From 1962-68 no English radio coverage was available. CFCF began coverage of non tv games in 1968. They would continue until 800 CJAD took over from 1991-2011. 690 CKGM has held the rights since 2012. As for French broadcasts, there is very little information. Rolland Beaudry was doing games in 1937 and Michel Normandin in 1945. I couldn't find any info on the French stations.

Didn't 1050 CHUM also have the Leafs games on Sunday evenings for a few years in the mid 1960's, maybe around 1963-64? This was in the era of the CHUM Witch who would always be in the crowd and put a hex on the Leafs opponents when playing in Toronto. There is a TV clip of Johnny Bower giving credit to the CHUM Witch for helping the team win games.

Yes I believe CHUM did air Sunday night Leaf games in the mid 60's. Probably a simulcast of the CBC broadcast.

There was a network set up in the early 60's for Sunday night Leaf games. CFRA Ottawa was in the network for awhile.

CBC wasn't created until 1936. National coverage was on CNR Radio (the radio network of CN Rail) from 1931 to 1934 and on the Canadian Radio Broadcasting Commission from 1934 until 1936.

Does anyone remember when Leaf away games were broadcast from theatres on Sunday nights? I remember my father taking me to one of those games, which had the Leafs playing the Rangers in New York. Can't remember what feed they used. This was around 1964-65.

Absolutely. The long since demolished College Theatre at College and Dovercourt was one of the venues. As I recall prices weren't cheap. You also have to remember that during the regular season all HNIC games were telecast from either MLG or the Forum. Only in the playoffs did viewers get a glimpse of MSG, the Olympia, Chicago Stadium and the Boston Garden. At the time, this was a big deal.

That is entirely possible. The 1992 World Series was played on October 17, 18, 20, 21, 22 and 24.

One question arises - why did Foster Hewitt allow Sunday night games to be broadcast on CHUM when he already had his own station for that purpose? And why just for one season apparently?

Perhaps CHUM was simulcasting the CBC feed and the initial agreement was for one year. CHUM decided not to continue for the next season. Just a guess.
