I debated adding this to the post about his passing, but thought it deserved a stand-alone announcement.
Hopefully no annoying breaking news will occur to screw up the broadcast.

As an added bonus, no Canadian simsub.

Thanks for the info betaylored, it hasn’t been listed by Bell yet so I’m not sure what time it is on, will check back on that!

Won't be surprised if they cut to local news just as they were about to show the Suzanne Pleshette dream sequence from "Newhart."

I'm an absolute bookworm and will definitely be hunting this audiobook down, because... Bob Newhart's memoir!

According to the Entertainment Tonight website (which is helping to produce it) it's supposed to air at 8 PM Eastern. Zap2it.com indicates it will only be an hour long special.

Judd Hirsch, who co-starred with Bob Newhart in their short-lived late '90s sitcom George & Leo, also had some nice things to say about Bob and his experience on the show. Although the show got cancelled due to low ratings, it did manage to squeak out a full season of 22 episodes. (Remember when full seasons were over 20 episodes long?)
Judd Hirsch Recalls Bob Newhart's 'Act of Absolute Kindness' Towards Him on George & Leo
Although he didn't seem to be overly bitter about the show's cancellation, Bob lamented that this would probably be his last effort in a starring role in a sitcom (which it would, and came on the heels of his just-cancelled sitcom from a few years back, Bob.)
(The Hamilton Spectator, June 10, 1998)
I remember watching a few episodes of George & Leo and actually finding it quite funny. The two main actors seemed to play off of each other quite well, and Jason Bateman, who was also a star in the series, was starting to hone his comedic chops, too.
Although it doesn't appear that a DVD release of the show is imminent (although who knows, as Bob has actually seen a full series release), someone appears to have uploaded the whole series on YouTube. I don't think it's currently streaming anywhere.

According to Variety, Bob's tribute special got 4.1M. viewers. I enjoyed it a great deal and did not know that George was his first name.

I was really glad they touched on Newhart's incredible and unlikely friendship with Don Rickles. It was legendary and I'm not sure how many people knew about it. When they were on a talk show together, it was always a segment of non-stop laughter.

Is it being repeated anywhere I missed it

You can watch it online at CBS.com, but you'll need a VPN for the United States. No sign in and no commercials.
I would recommend doing it sooner than later, because eventually, they remove it and place it on the Paramount+-only tier, where you can't get to it unless you subscribe. For now, though, it's free.

Newhart Tribute Special
It appears as though someone has uploaded it to YouTube as well, although that's probably not going to stay up too long either due to copyright restrictions, and this isn't from the official CBS YouTube channel. Picture quality is slightly blurry but seems okay for watching on a computer or smaller device.

Thanks for posting Paul. I completely forgot about the special on Monday. I thought it was well done and had some interesting segments. Nice that Bob seemed to be the same person in real life as what we saw and loved on TV. He certainly had a great marriage and family life. I had no idea that he had never won an Emmy award until near the end of his television career, and that the second CBS Newhart show was nominated for many Emmy's but never won.
Also I was not aware that he was such a pioneer in stand up comedy and his first comedy album, The Buttoned Down World Of Bob Newhart reached number one on Billboard. That is quite the feat for a comedy album, especially in 1960. And to win Album Of The Year in 1961 at the Grammy's was unheard of. Newhart also won Best New Artist at the Grammy's that year which has never happened again for a comedy artist.

And that LP spent 14 non consecutive weeks at #1 in 1960. Only the Cast Album for the Sound of Music spent more weeks at the top of the Billboard LP Charts that year, a total of 16.
