Well, the latest inductees in the U.S. Radio Hall of Fame have been announced. Other than Crook & Chase, Phil Hendrie and Kraig Kitchin, I've never heard of any of them.
The Museum of Broadcast Communications unveiled the eight distinguished figures who will be inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame for 2024. Selections were made by over 900 industry professionals, with two additional inductees chosen by the Radio Hall of Fame Nominating Committee. The process was managed by Votem.com and audited by Andrew Rosen from Miller Kaplan. The induction ceremony is scheduled for September 19 at the Omni Nashville Hotel, with ticket proceeds supporting the Museum. The 2024 inductees are:

Never understood why Joey Reynolds has not made the Hall of Fame. Here's a guy who has worked everywhere, at some of the major markets over a 60-year-plus career, and yet he's still not in. A major omission, IMHO.

Agreed Dale. Reynolds was a legend by the time he was out of high school. Incredible talent. I hope he's feeling better.

I remember a few years back, some DJ's wife went on Howard Stern to beg people to vote for her husband to get into the Hall of Fame...and they did and he did. It's a popularity contest. Ron Jacobs, the real architect of KHJ's success isn't in. Neither is Chuck Blore, a legendary program director at KFWB and equally legendary radio ad man. Halls of Fame aren't what they used to be.

Joey Reynolds - has been recognized by Cleveland's Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. About 20 years back several of us got the same honour. At the time Joey was doing all night shows at WOR New York.
On one of the evenings we were in Cleveland Dick Biondi and myself were invited to sit in on the Joey Reynolds Show. Joey's other guest that night was Les Paul.
That week Joey's show was done from the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Studio - which BTW was situated in the highest point of the pyramid.
When I was a teenager Dick Biondi was my favorite DJ. Big influence. Some have said Mickie was a copy. With that in mind you can imagine what a total thrill that all night show with these two giants was. d

Simply amazing the talent on display that night. David Marsden accepts his plaque just after the 28 minute mark.

Thanks Radioactive. I have never seen that video. It's a fading memory. But a grand moment.
