There's nothing like a good U.S. TV network scandal to get people talking. And they're talking about a lot more than the weather as ABC meteorologist Rob Marciano was officially terminated from the network, after years of eyebrow-raising behaviour. Some may remember Marciano from his time on Good Morning America and his most recent work, covering the tornadoes in the U.S mid-west for ABC's World News Tonight.
But the latest storm came inside the studio, where Marciano is accused of getting into a huge argument with another staffer - not for the first time. And it was a fellow weather person who reported him to management.
It's one of those rare broadcast disputes that has become embarrassingly public, with the network hoping - like those tornadoes - will soon blow over.

Reading multiple stories, I wonder if the atmosphere was more complicated than simply one person being off the rails. Maybe there's a leadership problem.

I've been reading stories about Mr. Marciano for years. I think this was the only way it was going to end.

This weatherman really blew it.
I guess nobody tried to rain him in until now.
But that might be clouding the issue.
But he sure failed to read the barometer on his career.
Also in that vane....
I know I've reached a new low.

You'd think he would have known which way the wind was blowing.

The answer, my friend, is blowing in the wind.

I can see clearly now. Blame it on the rain. It was the eye of the storm. He was obviously going against the wind. So the big boss man came down and said rock you like a hurricane.

Guess he was a blowhard and a weatherd*ck.

This may have been the last straw for the woman who oversaw the troubled news division.

I was going to compliment you but I don't want you to be vane.
Your creativity blew me away though.
As they say, I tried to catch some fog but I mist
Anyway, I heard it was an awful summer for Humpty Dumpty, but he had a great fall.
(Vain, vane, or vein, I don't know how anyone can learn English without losing their mind!)

You know as well as anyone when working with talent, they need to be larger than life to do what they do, and without a good manager it can easily all go to hell. With someone in place who can work with them and keep them on an even keel, without blunting their edge, it can be gold. Good luck finding those managers though, they are now a rare breed.
