Reminds me of the original home of CFNY in Brampton, back in the day.  The early few years of 102.1 FM was the best radio station I ever heard.

This station is small-town enough that they announce the names of people in the area who’ve recently passed away, and which funeral homes are looking after the arrangements - yet the music they play is surprisingly relatively contemporary, as opposed to “easy listening”, which one might expect from a small station in a rural community. My family and I were in Perth in January visiting my mother-in-law, who often has the station on in the background, and I found myself singing along to the playlist several times! They also have a Big Band show on Sunday mornings.

I am travelling to Ottawa next Wednesday from Sudbury , I will have to check out the 88.1 frequency as I get near the area.

About 100 years ago when I was in university, I used to call Kristie Knight in the evening when I was supposed to be studying 😄 She was great, and she always took the time to talk for a few minutes if she was able.

And whenever I drive past a place in Milton on Hwy 25 heading north out of town, I think of Hairball at the Hardball.

Many decades ago, CHML was once located at 848 Main Street East in Hamilton and the CKDS-FM studios were located in a converted house adjacent to the building at 11 Springer Avenue. In 1986, both stations would move to their current location of 875 Main Street West, which now also houses CING-FM.

875 Main Street West was the former site of the Westdale Hotel where Paddy Greens Bar was located. One of the last establishments to have a "Gentlemans" and "Ladies and Escorts" entrance.

Other radio stations still in houses include Lindsay's CKLY on Kent Street West, and Peterborough's Trent Radio (CFFF) at the corner of George Street & Parkhill Road.

One of the many stations being sold by Bell Media. Glad you're no longer there. You might have only been able to get a job working for Canada Post instead!

I believe the house on Broadway is now a dental practice.

Orangevillian here (until 1991, that is) - I wish I could remember that momentous day but I sadly don’t!
