    Changes at CIUT

    I just noticed that Luke Smith, who only became station manager in May 2022, is no longer listed as such and his LINKDIN page indicates his term just ended in October. CIUT's page indicates that Ken Stowar is back as SM but not if this is interim or permanent.

    Does anyone know what happened?

    I imagine the fact that the former (and now again) station manager Ken Stowar stuck around as program director wouldn't have made it easy for the Smith to fully take charge, particularly if he wanted to change things.

    I'm always sorry when someone loses a job; but I'm very happy for Ken Stowar who has led that station for years; both as a PD and station manager.

    Ken Stowar was rock solid in an otherwise ersatz environment when I was there 20+ years ago.

    Still, the "I'm retiring as the boss but I'll just stick around in the office down the hall if you need me" thing rarely works out for the new guy. Either stay or make a clean break of it.
