Dolly Declines Rock&Roll Hall of Fame Nomination
Dolly Parton has politely declined a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nomination because she doesn't feel like her music qualifies..
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame suffers from the same identity crisis as the Hockey Hall of Fame. Many who have earned the right to at least be nominated are excluded year after year. For example in hockey: Paul Henderson. Tho I can't think of any music artists right now who deserve to be nominated who've been overlooked...🤔

Perhaps they should change the name to the "Popular Music Hall of Fame" That would cover all the bases. Rock, R/B, Country, Disco, Punk, Rap, Hip-Hop. Each one of these styles has many artists who have sold boatloads of their music.

Despite her request, she remains on the Rock Hall ballot.

Dolly was doing what she had to do. Some folks would be screaming "she doesn't belong there!". She took a great PR position.Â
And she is already a major occupier where she works best....
Can you imagine the screams if Nirvana were to be in the running for the Country Music Hall Of Fame??
