I guess CFAJ is the furthest 1220 in the north. Pretty cool.

At least they're back on the air after a breif silence after their last batch of testing.
What I don't understand is, if all they are doing is testing, then what is paying for the upkeep of the signal?

That's going to be a relevant question even after the testing period.

They seem to be back on the air with a much improved night signal. The last few evenings there has been zero interference from Cleveland in the 401/Avenue Rd. area.

Re: 1220 CFAJ heard in Alaska

I was over in Buffalo yesterday and CFAJ was banging in, at least on the north side of town (Tonawanda, along Sheridan Drive), giving WECK on the first-adjacent channel a good fight. Same "this is a test of CFAJ": messages I heard almost a year ago when they turned the thing on.

Based on my recollections of what CHSC's 10 kW DA signal used to sound like at that same spot, I have my doubts about whether CFAJ has the directional array properly pulled in - it's supposed to have a pretty deep null toward Buffalo and WECK.
