I am a bit sad to see McCown go...and many greats have come, gone, passed away, retired...
Who would be on your list of top 3 all time face broadcasters that you wish you could hear once more?
Mine would be...
Pete and Geets
Scruff Connors
and then Tom Rivers and Mike Cooper while on 680 CFTR
Who do you miss not being able to listen to or watch?
Top 3 choices...

I have an LP that Pete And Geets recorded back in the late 70's, I think, called "Once Again" It was a compilation of some of their CHUM FM morning show skits. Does anyone remember the CBL or CJBC morning show "Toast & Jamboree" with Bruce Smith and newscaster Walter Bowles? My parents listened every morning until my dad discovered "Wally"

All of the CHUM FM DJ's that I heard between 1971 to 1975 as it was the best format the city has ever had in terms of musical discovery and education.
Many of the CFNY DJ's from 1977 to 1989 as it was the second best rock station the city has seen. Accent was on modern rock for much of the period but not strictly limited to that and once the Edge did limit things that was the end of a great radio station.
David Wisdom on CBC stereo during the 1990's kept the free form flag flying on Nightlines.

Had to think about it for a while to cut down to just 3. So with apologies to regular contributor Mike Cleaver and of course the great Tom Rivers and Scott Carpenter here goes:
Marsden (circa CHUM-FM)
Pete and Geets
Larry Silver (circa CFTR)

I've always been drawn to Talk Radio, even as a young lad.
I'd be interested in hearing John Gilbert (CHUM) & Larry Glick (WBZ) again to see what kindled my draw to Talk Radio at even such a young age.

You can hear most of those personalities right here.
Airchecks I'd like to have...
An Al Boliska morning show on CHUM (1957-63)
Anything from The Whole Bag/The Open Lid (1966-71)
Norman B.'s "Where It's At" all-night R&B show in 1967.

Thanks Dale. I just took a quick listen to one of Daynard's shows...wow does it take me back in time. The man had a truly unique sound and playlist!
Looking forward to listening to his shows again and in many cases the other staions and announcers for the first time.
