It has been discussed several times that many advertisers do not perceive value in an older audience despite having much more disposable income. These people continue to purchase a wide range of goods and services many of them being high end compared to the coveted younger demo many who live paycheque to paycheque.
I came across this old W5 segment for 1991 about a seniors show on CKTB. I found it quite interesting,
What an untapped market for a forward looking radio station.

Certainly AM 740's primary audience. So at least they're aware there's a lot of disposable income there.
