Advertisers ignoring the older demographic W5 segment

It has been discussed several times that many advertisers do not perceive value in an older audience despite having much more disposable income. These people continue to purchase a wide range of goods and services many of them being high end compared to the coveted younger demo many who live paycheque to paycheque.

I came across this old W5 segment for 1991 about a seniors show on CKTB. I found it quite interesting,

What an untapped market for a forward looking radio station.

Certainly AM 740's primary audience. So at least they're aware there's a lot of disposable income there.

Format seems similar to Ray Sonin's Down Memory Lane.
