Friday night will be something else. The two walks and three wild pitches in the seventh inning gave the Jays two gift runs. Dodger Stadium became eerily silent after that. The stunned this isn't supposed to happen look on the faces of Dodger fans was priceless.

Lolno. If Toronto does win, I feel it could embolden 1600 Pennsylvania's push for annexation. After all, it can't be the "World Series" if the winner resides outside the US, that just doesn't make any sense(!).
Yes, I'm being facetious, mostly about the nomenclature of the baseball championship. To defeat your enemies, you must learn to think like they do.

No problem. 60% - 70% of Americans think Toronto is part of the USA. They'll take it as an American win. 🤣

Actually, when you mention Canada to many Americans, they think that is where good beer and cold weather come from. However, most know how to pronounce Ontario's capital city correctly. Not Trono, nor Torono but Tor-on-to. Did you know there are four Toronto's in the U.S. Ohio[5187], Kansas[206], Iowa[102] and South Dakota[195] There is also a neighbourhood in Springfield, Ill called Toronto.

I was expecting a five hour pre game for tomorrow night but they're not milking it.

Bases loaded in the 9th inning with one out and you can't score one run. My first thought. Jays are going to lose, and they did. On the bright side, they had a better season than 30 MLB teams.

Yes, losing in extra innings in game#7 of the World Series is tough, no question.
But the Blue Jays dramatically exceeded all expectations this year & provided an extremely exciting, entertaining brand of baseball. Bravo !!

Yes, indeed! They may not have won the World Series but they showed they are just a good as the Dodgers.
Thank you, Jays for a great year!

A real heartbreaker from a team with a lot of heart. The Jays played a brilliant post season, gave us something to be proud of and look forward to and the Dodgers got lucky IMO! I also think that some of the calls that went against us, like the wedged ball, were terrible and we deserved fairer umpiring, not being bitter here either. Well played Blue Jays, next year!

The losing team always notices unfair umps and refs. One of the announcers on 590 commented something to the effect that the Jays were the better team despite the loss. I expect home announcers to be home announcers, but frankly the team that wins a series like this is the better team. It's a game. So be it. But a damn good show by a team that wasn't expected to even make the playoffs. Some tinkering here and there and next year might be even more memorable. I'd rate the season somewhere between A and A+

I was checking the listings for City TV while the World Series was on and noticed they had programmed a number of vintage Twilight Zones for after the game, all starting at 1 AM. One of them had me laughing out loud. It was the episode where a baseball manager uses a robot pitcher to help him win games.
Boy, could the Jays have used him on Saturday night!
The episode was called "The Mighty Casey" and if you have a VPN set to the U.S., you can watch the whole thing here - although you may be baseball-ed out for the next few months and after what happened, who can blame you?

Maybe the most entertaining World Series ever. Our team didn't win, but what a game and series! The Jays post season had a bit of everything. One commentator on FOX mentioned prior to the game that he had become a real Jays fan. He said Toronto played baseball the way it was meant to be played. An older style where any member of the team would regularly contribute to winning a game. And he liked the way they would mix things up, bunt, move players to different positions and how every member was a team player.
It almost worked for them, but when you have trouble getting people on base home, that is a problem. Mind you Los Angeles had the same issue at times. The Dodgers just had a few more lucky breaks than the Jays and that makes the difference when the teams are so evenly matched.
A fantastic series, and one baseball fans will be talking about for years. Congrats to the Dodgers and thank you Jays for giving us a lot to cheer about when we really needed it. See you next year!

Hats off to the Jays, who far exceeded expectations this year. I would have preferred a different outcome of course, but there's always next year! I think the Jays have a team that could contend for a few years. Having Bieber and Yesavage in the rotation for an entire season can't hurt.

Yesavage will be around for a while, but I think Bieber is a free agent. No guarantee he'll be back.

I believe Bo is a free agent now as well. They got their money out of Yesavage.. $57k USD is his contract I think? Buy that kid a new Tacoma

I believe the $57 thousand was for his three starts this season with the Jays. No doubt there is a big bonus for all players just getting to the World Series. He received a signing bonus of $4.1 million in 2024 when he signed with the Jays and will be with the team until the 2030 season. His salary next year will be $820,000. Here's more detail from heavy.com...

One swing of a bat made the difference. It was exciting to the end. Hopefully the Jay's can make it that far again .
