Natasha Ramsahi just confirmed on her TikTok account that CITY-TV is moving to a "building on Bloor St" (assume Rogers campus) as of March 17.

I am not aware of any plan to be at 333 Bloor.
I thought they were moving to 1 Mount Pleasant.

Is City/Omni actually moving or is this a rumour?
It never was a rumour. I knew for a few years now that they were going to move.
What I did not know is that there were already plans to fill the space with Toronto MU students.
It was never going to be available as a vacant building.
I was strictly guessing on future use when I mentioned Corus in the above thread. (and I was wrong)

How about the return of the Olympic Spirit theme?
What a classic Toronto misfire.
As I mentioned, the City/Omni building is going to go to use with Toronto Metropolitan University. (TMU aka Ryerson) Rogers will be pitching in to help.
I know nothing about how much money Rogers is helping to fund the new plans for the building.

333 Bloor E is going to be demolished and replaced by a condo last I heard.

It’s the overflow building across the street that’s coming down.

Thanks. I had the right building, wrong address. Google pointed me at the wrong side of Bloor when I looked it up.

Rogers certainly has a lot of buildings downtown.
It may seem that way, but don't forget they no longer have the building at Bathurst and Lakeshore.
(this building was sold a while ago)

Exact address is 350 Bloor. A notice of change is visible just outside the building on Google maps.

The buildings Rogers has on/near Bloor:
First: 333 Bloor Street East/777 Jarvis Street (can't remember what it was before, possibly the old Confederation Life Building)
Second: The Confederation Life building at 1 Mount Pleasant, then they added an addition (called by some One Unpleasant. Sportsnet was moved there after major renovations, then OMNI 1 & 2 from Lakeshore & Bathurst)
Next: 350 Bloor Street East (Rogers took this building over around 2007 or 2008 I think)
Rogers kept needing more and more space at Bloor & Jarvis, which is why they acquired 350 Bloor East and kept adding more space at 333/777 by splitting little conference rooms into offices,
Rogers also acquired the Torch building at Victoria and Dundas and moved CityTV up there and rotated editors between there and Lakeshore. It was really cramped there. IIRC, the building was only 44,000 square feet.
And Rogers bought the Nortel property in Brampton in 2006.
Of course, they have lots of other properties in Ontario and other provinces, including Skydome (I know), Scotiabank Centre (through MLSE), BMO Field (also MLSE) and all their yards for their cable/fibre technical services and community TV stations (if there are any left.)

The building at Bathurst & Lakeshore wasn’t sold because you can’t build condos etc. there, as there is an underground river flowing below it, and it is also (partially) a heritage building. Rogers ended up donating it to the city, who turned it into a homeless shelter. I know we need help for the homeless, but that was a classic building that had been recently renovated. I have never quite understood why they didn’t just stay there! That’s Rogers for you.

Rogers left because Canderal had new plans for the Lakeshore building in 2017, but by 2022...

Thank-you. That's exactly where I was trying to say they will be going...

Fun fact: what is now the parking lot of the Rogers building is the site of the original studio and namesake of 100 Huntley Street.

BT confirmed they are moving to new studio on March 17, while auctioning off their white sofa with proceeds to Jays Care foundation.

after reading your news PMC I checked out this clip, linked below, from the BT show and the promo they played is also teasing "new hosts?"
p.s. in all the years it's been part of the set, no host or guest has ever looked remotely at ease or comfortable sitting on that white sofa, it looks like something from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and not in a good way.

Someone on BT's Wikipedia page has already added Tim Bolen as a host.

It could Pooja and Gurdeep live on TV from the CHFI radio room. They'd being doing double duties.

Yes.
It was leaked to me that Pooja and Gurdeep would be the new hosts,
all with no word on what will happen with CHFI. So, it is possible that you are indeed correct...(?)

Having been in a control room and a radio studio, that would be riveting TV. [Sarcasm emoji]
I've heard them running a liner on 680 about the "New BT" premiering Monday. So it had better live up to the hype.

Pooja and Gurdeep both have Breakfast Television listed in their bios on both of their Instagram pages now.

I don't know if they would do the radio show on TV thing. The promo for their new studio did show two seats at a desk in the studio.

Much of the radio show is pre-taped, and much of the TV show can be. Plus, with City moving too…
For sure they’re doing both.

Tim and Sid happened, why can't they do something similar with Breakfast Television. CHFI can live stream/simulcast air over the radio while Gurdeep and Pooja are hosting.

Outside of Toronto, Citytv has filler programming and repeats of last night’s news in place of a local BT. Probably not a good lead in for the national portion of BT. A 660 News Radio simulcast on Citytv Calgary would be a nice option here.

I was just thinking back to the very beginning. How many times has City TV moved itself? It started in 1972 at 99 Queen St. E. That led to what employees there always called "The New Building" at 299 Queen St. W. They used to refer to it as the "Building That Shoots Itself," to which I always wanted to add, "In The Foot."
Then it was on to Yonge & Dundas, a site Gord Martineau suggested after the craziness with Bell buying City, and being forced by the CRTC to sell it to Rogers, leaving City no choice but to get out of 299.
And now it's #1 Mt. Pleasant.
That's 4 locations in a few decades. Has any Toronto TV station ever moved that often?
I wonder what the new sets will look like...Of course, I remember a time when they boasted they didn't have sets.

BT already leaked what their new set will look like when they put the white couch up for auction, and
hey? Isn't CityNews simply going to use the same set they were already using shortly before they announced that they are moving? I thought that's why the current environment @ CityNews is the way it is. The (fairly new) news desk has already been moved to the new location.

I might be showing my age here, but the whole point and what made City Tv different was the back ground was the street where you never knew what was going to happen behind you while you were live on air. Moving to Dundas square they were able to keep some of this. Now they could be on any floor, including the basement with just a green screen behind them.
This might be cost effective but it's no longer City TV.
