Must be a good tropo opening.

Just exceptionally good regional enhancement from 75-150 miles...

Same here in Greater Sudbury.  Northern Michigan stations are booming in, along with Muskoka and Barrie.  I was able to pick up 94.9 The Rock from Oshawa.

I hope this is straightened out  by fall. My wife and I are looking for a home to purchase in the Sudbury - Espanola area. Collingwood just isn't the nice little town anymore it was when when we came here in 2009.

Bell Fibe is available in all communities around Sudbury.  Within Greater Sudbury, you also have access to Vianet Fibe.  Eastlink is not the only game in town, and I would hazard a guess that it's not the most popular.

i have a pet theory about this.... oldies? certainly a unique hole in the market that would appear to be competitively non-offensive.  however....  the community is craving an FM Country signal.  just sayin, that sometimes the situation "changes" between application and launch.

Rogers has a country station on AM, but I would bet they will launch as a Country format.  The Moose is already a Classic Hits station, so they won't have the same format on both of their stations.  Place your bets!

Imagine if every radio station in Toronto was suddenly knocked off the air. It's unlikely to ever happen, but it did in the small market of Little Current on Manitoulan Island. There's not much of a radio presence there in terms of local choices, so when an accident knocked out the transmitters for the two stations in town, the result was radio silence.

I have no idea if they can get OTA radio from elsewhere during the day, but maybe someone here knows. (I'd also love to know what the DXing is like up there.)

Anyway, I'm not sure why, but I found this article interesting.

Radio stations knocked down, get up again with help from the industry

You can pick up all Sudbury FM's in Little Current.  There is also a CBC repeater in Little Current at 97.5, so technically this town of less than 3000 has 3 local FM's.

Sid was an amazing man.  I went to Canadore College and worked at CHUR in the mid to late 80's.  RIP my friend.

Super Channel are getting people talking about them...for the first time ever.

I personally don't see them having a chance in hell of getting anywhere with this lawsuit.  Best Buy has some pretty deep pockets as well, and there is nothing illegal about selling them.  They claim to have video of a salesperson telling a customer how to manipulate the box.  Is that legal without the consent of the Best Buy or the Sales Person?

I own an Nvidea Shield I bought at Best Buy.  I use it for my Bell Fibe App, Netflix, Prime and Crave.  Nothing illegal here.  So don't assume that's what all people do with a streaming device.  Those people buy cheap boxes off of Amazon and Ebay.  Maybe that's who they should go after.
