Here's the second Night Glide episode. It features the Remembrance Day snowfall in Toronto with 4K60 video of Nathan Phillips Square, Yonge-Dundas Square, great skyline video at the end, and more.

I think a few seconds more should have been spent on the Horseshoe Tavern shot, but still, not a bad video.

Thanks again for the tip. I've added 10 seconds of video walking by the Horseshoe Tavern during Nuit Blanche Toronto 2019 at 26:39 into in the completely-new episode Night Glide - https://youtu.be/7rVg5tAoJSQ?t=1600

The full Night Glide ep can be seen here:

Thank you! Yes, another couple of seconds at 4:15 would have been nice.

With the new Night Moves: Ep 2 [4K60] added to the My Night Walk YouTube channel, all three original episodes of the overnight Night Walk TV series filmed in Toronto in 1986 have been updated with 4K video footage of Toronto from this year. The shows, considered early examples of slow TV, aired nightly for seven years on the Global Television Network. All original and new episodes can be seen at the My Night Walk channel.

And the part I can't understand is how NO ONE waves at the camera.   People aren't even noticing it!  Have you seen a circa 1986 steadicam?!  It looks like a Buick engine on a pogo stick, strapped to a vest!  AND they apparently shot it all in one night (in May)

They were noticed more on the second night of shooting (for Night Moves and the second Night Walk ep), which took place about five months after that first night in May.

The most noticable wave happens in Night Moves at this point: https://youtu.be/VFBKGpLNad0?t=640

These things are as legitimate historical archives of the city as anything else.  Pity Global didn't do more.

It is. Cinematographer David Crone said he wanted to film episodes for Global in other Canadian cities.

The first new Night Walk episode in 33 years, just like the second, features new video footage of Toronto over the TV show's original smooth jazz soundtrack from 1986.

Episode 3, filmed this past spring, includes the same walk as the first episode - down Yonge Street from Gerrard Street to Eaton Centre, as well as video from the PATH, Yonge Street between Queen and Front streets, and a new location - Yonge Street in North York.

The full 56-minute ep is at

If you remember Toronto's 80s overnight show Night Ride (along with Night Walk), a new episode featuring 4K Ultra HD footage was recently published at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XnTOhqJOv9M . All original episodes from 1986 (considered early versions of "slow TV") are at https://www.youtube.com/mynightwalk .

grilled.cheese - That one is a great condensed version of Night Walk, my favorite of the three. The stream I linked to in my post is good for leaving on for a long period of time since the full episodes are playing in a three-hour loop.

Many in Ontario and Western New York surfing through channels in the middle of the night in the 80's may recall a unique series of shows instead of a test pattern - Night Walk, Night Ride and Night Moves on Global TV. The same three episodes, set to jazz music while a steadicam roamed the streets of downtown Toronto, ran nightly from 1986 to 1993. All complete episodes can be seen streaming at mynightwalk.com - I thought it might be of interest with the recent post about Sam The Record Man signs being restored on Yonge Street. These shows inspired me to visit Toronto when I lived in St. Thomas and they first began airing.
