In 2002 our tech producer Perry McIntosh for the Ripkin! Show on MOJO 640 told us a story live on air of how he purposely sprayed himself with bear spray to see what it was like...we spent an hour of the 3 hour show taking calls from people who had been hit or used it on others...it was hilarious...could have done the whole 3 hours on it easy.

When I was a producer I expected every live event we would broadcast to be late...we prepped for this with either a guest on before the event would start so we had someone to blab with to kill time or we had a topic associated with the event lined up to discuss to also kill time...sure we could babble on and on as well where necessary but that's the job...Carney has been absolutely great lately, especially on the international stage...Trump is a fucken embarrassment to himself and the USA...if you're still a Trump supporter in Canada after his current bullshit about the North America defence dome, annexing Greenland, his 1 billion dollar 'Board Of Peace' that includes dictators, human rights violaters and despots, including Canada as a 51st state on a map he posted on social media, and saying Canada is not grateful and only exists cause of the USA then please fuck right off.

Yeah doing this is not a big deal anymore ...especially with how info is consumed and attained on so many more platforms and that these stations are hovering around a putrid 0.5 share...when we were on the air at MOJO 640 we used to tell people to switch the dial to CFRB to see how lame it was...sometimes we'd just leave dead air or play elevator music for 15 to 20 seconds to give listeners time to confirm it was lame and then tune back to us...of course back then RB had like an 8 share or something around there...we didn't care...the audiences were more than a little different between stations back then...we competed more with the FAN 590...nowadays both stations fight for the same shrinking, right wing, freedom convoy 'patriots'.

Pretty sure the only people that still listen to 640 and 1010 post on this board, are cloud shouters or are in palliative care...Jesus, we had a 2.0% share at MOJO 640 in 2002 and many said we sucked bigtime...curious if 640 ever passed that ratings milestone since then?

The Super Bowl has more than twice the viewer numbers the Grey Cup captures in Canada...it's clear the CFL is Canada's maligned yet beloved (in the prairies by rednecks and farmers anyway) B-league...it clings to it's unique Canadian rules and patriotism but everyone knows two things...every CFL player and coach would leave for a solid NFL gig in a millisecond and Toronto 's ship (excuse the Argo pun there) has long set sail on the league...Toronto wants, deserves and would easily support an NFL franchise...but that would basically put a final nail in the CFL being even mentioned as a top tier pro league...The NFL will never come to Toronto as per the deal/gentleman's agreement they have with the CFL...the CFL should become a version of pro-hockey's AHL and feed talent to an affiliated NFL team and Toronto should get an NFL franchise...don't tell me MLSE and their millionaire buddies couldn't scrounge up $4 billion USD for a NFL team and a new stadium...the current Ontario gov't would pave the way in a path of gold interlock as well.

Apparently when MOJO Radio was a thing HR policy prohibited posting the MOJO Girls Calendar in the building. They they could be given away, but not looked at. 

 

The woman I've been with for over 20 years was a MOJO model...I had those girls on the air and on every show I hosted or produced either in studio or live on location when MOJO was at its height...when I did remotes for Monday Night Football games at the bars for example, there was always a MOJO model with me and I would sometimes include her in the promo...most of them were great, pretty ladies just looking to make some extra cash...as for the calendars...I had one hanging in my cubicle at 1 Dundas...no one said shit about it to me.

The NHL season is 2 months too long...NHL playoffs should be best of 5 in the first round...and never have the NHL finals at the same time as the NBA finals....also, having a Canadian team in the final doesn't help with US ratings either....you get a New York Rangers vs Chicago Black Hawks final and I bet the U.S numbers double.
