NHL first round playoffs used to be best of 3 many years back...then best of 5...owners won;t agree to bringing that back from the now best of 7 round 1, obviously that's a no brainer considering the revenue....I'm looking at this from a fan perspective....having an ice hockey championship go til the middle or end of June is simply ridiculous and if a SC final series goes 7 games it takes 2 weeks to complete...cut the season to 72 games, make the first round of the playoffs shorter and you can end things by the end of May at the very least...too many games, too long a season...just dumb....it's all about the cash...there is no turning back.

Love that guy...consummate pro...simply an excellent announcer for decades and a great cook and gardener too....best of luck to him wherever he goes and whatever he does.

Would not have made an iota of difference....Leafs stunk up their own barn on 2 consecutive nights...outscored 12-2 in games 5 and 7...they didn't show up and were thoroughly embarrassed.

Some boards have set up an alert system with their transportation providers....the second the buses are cancelled...you get a notification - email or text....you can also go to a schools website or social media accounts first thing in the morning to see if the buses have been cancelled...there are options and there is no need to sit there and wait to see or hear your kid's school to be called out on TV or radio.

Any event that draws over 350,000 spectators to 1 venue in 1 city over 6 days would garner huge coverage...never mind the spin off parties and huge, positive economic impact on the community...Swift is clearly the largest musical talent on Earth right now...her numbers alone live up to the hype.

It's typical of human activity...hang on to things that worked in another era cause they are comfortable and nostalgic to you...AM radio has become a beacon for older generations and (especially in parts of the USA) a vessel to spew evangelical/religious and right-wing bullshit propaganda that caters to those over 65+...they remember AM radio as a key part of how they received and consumed entertainment and information...those days are gone and the ratings numbers don't lie...fewer are listening and even fewer of those people are under 55 years old...it's slowly but surely dying and nothing will stop the grim reaper from eventually showing up.

I did that job...I would suggest taking up finish carpentry before applying for that gig these days...pretty much any job at Corus for that matter...unless you're part of an outside legal/accounting/hr agency team that will oversee its inevitable bankruptcy/liquidation...if I sound bitter it's because I am...fuck Corus.
