I also left 1010 about a month after they started. Both of them annoy me.

I feel badly for people who don't "get" Jim Richards. He is extremely talented - so funny and quite a joy to listen to. On hard news he's a very good interviewer and doesn't back down. Maybe he is too intelligent for the audience Newstalk wants to capture especially in the afternoon.

I can only hope management of Bell Media reads these comments because if so many are waiting for two professionals to "gel" then something is absolutely wrong with the "New Rush".

I have tried but have come to the conclusion I can't listen. Have switched to John Oakley on 640AM which is the best of the two but not great either.
Also I miss Jim Richards and hope he is doing well.

Give Jim Richards a break. He was doing very well under all of the circumstances. His opening was his usual well written and delivered thoughts but I agree he was not his usual quick and witty self. There was no chemistry with Amanda Galbraith because she seemed either tired or disinterested. Not with it at all- unprofessional, unprepared, missing cues with dogs barking in the background.
Jim has been around the industry far to long and is way to competent to be blamed for todays show.

Such a breath of fresh air on Newstalk1010. I rarely listen to Jerry Agar anymore but have really enjoyed this week with Lesley Roberts. The recent changes have been great especially hearing Jim Richards in the afternoon again. He and Jay are great together.
