Per Lance Venta's RadioInsight.com , the sales of the Bell Media stations have started to close...and we're seeing a series of format changes/rebrands. In summary:
Owen Sound sees CJOS jump from Bounce Radio 92.3(which did variety hits)to become Zoomer 92.3, mimicing the branding and soft oldies format of CFZM(Zoomer Radio)in Toronto. They'll have live personalities in AM & PM drive, with the rest of the schedule duplication Zoomer in Toronto.
My Broadcasting finished the rebranding last month. In short:
-CFLY-FM returned to its 98.3 Fly FM branding but is still an AC station.
-CKLC rebrands as New Country 98.9 .
-Bounce 103.7(CJPT) becomes classic rock 103.7 Giant FM.
-CFJR(Move 104.9)rebrands as 104.9 myFM.
Lance adds that Whiteoaks hasn't closed yet on their Hamilton & Niagara area station.

Former CHCH-TV anchor/reporter(and, on occasion, talk show host)Donna Skelly has been elected as the first female speaker of the Ontario Legislature. The MPP, representing Flamborough-Glanbrook, replaces Ted Arnott-who retired from that post after serving as Speaker for 7 years.
(Credit to the Toronto Star & Hamilton Spectator for that news blurb. Likewise, CHCH in Hamilton also reported it.)

Free speach tv is the most far-left you can get, seconded by the huffington post.

The vast majority of people do not have FreeSpeech TV on their channel lineups. I can tell you for a FACT that my TV provider doesn't have it. MSNBC isn't as left leaning as you THINK it is.

I had to clean it up a bit and leave out the last paragraph, for reasons of good taste. But safe to say, Dean's not a fan of Greg.

I have a better question: Why hasn't, say, Channel Zero made a proposal to the CRTC to create a classic TV network in the style of Antenna TV, Cozi TV or MeTV? Keep in mind that most of the daytime schedule at CHCH-TV consists of classic TV shows. Instead of WHINING about it, get in on the action!

No offence but it's a colossal waste of effort.
Trump is only going to be around for four years, and might even die or become incompetent before that.
Any idea how long a process it would be for Canada and the US to merge?
That process could take decades of the most complicated legal and economic wrangling the world has ever known.
You're right, Canada will never become the 51st state. However, Trump may well force, through economic sanctions, Canada to make changes that benefit the U.S. In the broadcast realm, he may demand the Online News Act be repealed, or an end to restrictions on foreign ownership of Canadian media and telecom companies. That's a real concern.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Canada export a LOT of energy to the U.S.? Not just gasoline, but also electricity, etc? Make it clear: If you want to put tariffs on our items, we will stop exporting our energy to your country. That is an effective way to counter any economic sanctions the U.S. might impose(in addition to OTHER tariffs Canada is considering placing on American products).

Gawd! Memories of when the late great (or not so great) Wild 101 FM literally targeted Buffalo, trying their best to sound like a Buffalo FM radio station. That didn't last long. The CRTC laid down the law on that one.
They were later in trouble for 2Day FM being only one station on 105.1 and 101.1, but that's another story.
As for American stations, they always had a strict rule for YEARS that if You're not American, you couldn't own a station, but you were always free to rent it. Renting was never a problem. This is very old information though, from several years ago.
A couple of years after Byrnes Communications bought 101.1 and 105.1, they entered into a sales partnership with Radio One Buffalo(which owns WECK)to help sell advertising in Buffalo for both stations.

"Slick" Tom Tiberi, longtime night voice at WGRF(97 Rock)is now on the beach. How? By sharing a dark-humored meme about a certain former president on Facebook. He noted on his personal page that it was done BEFORE the shooting at his Butler, PA rally and he deleted the post soon after...but NOT before RWNJs who decry cancel culture managed to cache the image and post it, along with the Cumulus execs' numbers...this leading to the Slickster's axing. He ended by thanking his listeners and saying "Let us just say so long for now, as I'll be back!"

Stations that don't pay Nielsen aren't shown in the public numbers.
And these numbers are for the new WTSS on 96.1, not what's now WBKV on 102.5. WBKV may account for a few of those missing ratings points all by itself.
That is a very big "MAY", since EMF doesn't pay for ratings.
