I think they shut down the CKNX TV transmitter sometime ago. I don’t know when but there is a reporter based out of the former CKNX station in Wingham. Scott Miller who covers the Midwestern part of Ontario.
I wonder how the people up there watch it now. They must need to have satellite or cable.

Not that wikipedia is an authoritative source but it indicates that CKNX is still opearting in analog simply as a rebroadcaster of CFPL TV.

I have occasionally watched the weather forecasts on the Buffalo stations, particularly when lake effect snow storms are expected. Hamilton is always displayed on their weather maps. London and Toronto less often. One unique detail that is almost always shown. The Erie and Ontario lake temperatures.

When I watch the Detroit newscasts their weather map will sometimes show London, Toronto and Ottawa.

This thread started as a way to list some of the phrases broadcasters say that can irritate listeners. My latest must-to-avoid is one I'm hearing on the local talkers way, way too often these days. After an interview with a guest, the hosts will often say "Thanks for this. Appreciate you."
Not "appreciate it."
"Appreciate you."
I'm not sure why, but this really annoys me. CFRB's Shane Hewitt seems particularly prone to this and he says it almost every time.
I suppose there's nothing wrong with it, but for some reason, it rubs me the wrong way.
If you agree, well then, I guess I "appreciate you."
