In the late 1970s, Michael Palin and Terry Jones of Monty Python produced a series called “Ripping Yarns”, a humorous take on the old British boys comics. In one episode, “Golden Gordon”, a small town devoted football fan’s team actually wins a game after losing for six years! This is how I felt last night when the Raptors won, ending an eleven game skid. I wasn’t going to watch but wanted to check the score and stayed when I saw they were actually up! A New Year’s miracle? I’ll take it!

As deporable as the Raptors are with 8 wins, there are four teams with fewer victories. Charlotte and Utah [7] Washington [6] New Orleans [5] As pathetic as these teams are, they will have a long way to go to match the NBA record for fewest wins in a season. That dubious honour belongs to the 1972-73 Philadelphia 76er's who finished that season 9-73.

Thanks for the stats mace. I have followed basketball for about ten years but I am not up on its history but 9-73 isn’t too good!
