Very kind of you SW and I really appreciate it. The life of an Admin. is a thankless one. Well, it was - until you just thanked me, so I guess I can't say that anymore!
I appreciate all who view or post here and make the board what it is. And I hope every one of them "tunes in" to a really great Christmas or Happy Holiday, depending on your preference.

Let me join Shorty in thanking RadioActive for his great efforts on behalf of the Big Yellow Board. Not only coralling the sometimes rambunctious posters, but also for being aware of seemingly every broadcast story out there and starting some very interesting threads. Well done RA!
I'd also like to thank all the other board members whose posts make this forum a daily must read for me.

A Happy Christmas and New Year to all SONWY readers and participants. We collectively have a lot to keep an eye on in 2025 with the sale of the rest of the Bell fleet of radio stations and impending changes related to that, as well as the fun that will start south of the boarder. Stay tuned

Thanks to RA, Iain Grant, Craig Smith and the originator of the 'big, yeller board', Dale Patterson for launching and keeping the board ongoing. It's a fabulous forum. LONG MAY IT REIGN! (sorry any of the other administrators whose name(s) I missed).

I concur, thank you RA...
Twas the night before Christmas
And the members of the board were scurrying to find any resemblance of live radio
But no announcer was to be found, YIKES! no one on air...
Except for a bad newscast on 1010, it seemed no one could care
Christmas day will be the same...not live shows all re-rolls and filler not one talking
RA asked, Santa at the mall, can we have someone fun hosting a live show in his stocking
But mean old St. Nick had to decline
There was nothing but Christmas music on Virgin 99.9
RA has kept the board together, he manages the personalities
We have different media backgrounds and we're even various nationalities
On this the eve of Christmas and seeing Santa Claus
We stop and shout hurray!
We give RA a big round of applause
He has done yeoman's work keeping us all in tact
He minds the content so we're all on track...
So as we close out the year,
Have no fear
Because, RA has our back!
Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah, Kwanza and Festivus

With apologies to Lorne's always great Oldies Music Board, I had to steal this from him. It has a fascinating radio story behind it. It would appear to be Mel Blanc as Porky Pig doing a hilarious version of "Blue Christmas."
But a little research indicates it was actually a disc jockey duo at Birmingham's WZRR-FM, John Boy and Billy, who brought voice actor Denny Brownlee in to do the perfect imitation of Blanc's Porky for a 1996 Christmas album they released. (They eventually launched into syndication and are now heard on dozens of stations.)
To avoid any conflicts with Warner Bros., the "group" was listed as "Seymour Swine & The Swindlers." But there's no doubt who they're copying. That voice you hear laughing all the way through it is apparently John Boy, who thought the imitation was amazing. And it is.
The video below would appear to use something that previously existed, because there are moments where it's clearly not in sync with the words. But it's pretty impressive.
That's all folks!

(Thanks ShortyWave for starting this thread.)
Thanks RadioActive for the firm tactful guidelines that for the most part keep the big yellow board civilized. Although some days it must feel like herding cats.
Best holiday wishes to everyone.
2025 is shaping up to be an interesting year. 🥂
