I think we would all agree that the media landscape has gone through big changes some are seismic.
Psychic Nikki hits Toronto airwaves this time of year and has been a media staple or go to person around year end on radio stations/shows.
So, what are your radio/television predictions for 2025 Big Yellow? What do you see in your crystal ball?
What do you see in the broadcasting future and share it over the holiday break!
Oh, and here is Psychic Nikki with former radio host Judy Croon...sharing her insights into 2025...take it for what it's for...
Happy holidays everyone, thanks for making life a bit more enjoyable on here this year everyone and my best to R for moderating the board.

Bell mostly abandons its broadcast properties, especially radio (with the exception of CTV.) The open question is who buys them and what happens to them.

Now that a radio company is allowed to own 3 FM and one AM (instead of two and two)
Bell just might sell (or close) more AM stations to make the remaining stations look more profitable for a sale.

More major sports leagues (NHL, NBA, NFL, MLB) will continue to move their broadcasts over to streaming platforms, forcing the major broadcast networks in Canada and the U.S. to air more niche sports, including:

Over at 640 John Oakley will choose to retire and either Greg Brady or Ben Mulroney will take over the afternoon drive show.
The switch would rest on Ben being willing to give up the flexibility of his current situation with respect to spending time with his family and pursuing other work opportunities.
While there's every reason for keeping Greg Brady as the morning host at 640 and having Ben do the afternoon drive, would Ben's higher energy on-air be a tempting fit for listeners first thing in the morning as competition for 1010's John Moore and the Moore In The Morning show?
One more prediction: a radio station, not necessarily a sports radio station picks up Jeff Marek's hockey podcast and airs it Monday to Friday. He'll have come full circle if it's 640 as Jeff was the host of their noontime Leaf's Lunch show after Greg Brady left. Old home week indeed.
Happy holidays, Merry Christmas, and Happy Hanukkah to all and as Tiny Tim never said in that Charles Dickens classic, "God bless us every pun."
