Greg Brady was sitting in for Ben Mulroney on Friday, after being temporarily replaced by Antony Furey on the morning show. (Why they didn't have Furey sit in for Mulroney and leave the morning show alone is beyond me.) 

At one point, Brady was talking about the job Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow has been doing, noting he's tried repeatedly to get her to come on his show, but the answer is always 'no.' 

He stated he was aware Chow had given half an hour of her time to "another AM talk station," (CFRB) accusing her of going on there because the morning host only throws softball questions she can easily answer and the reason she avoids 640 is because he won't do that. 

He also noted that his show rates far ahead of the the other station and that she should be looking for the bigger audience. So not only did he diss CFRB, but his direct competitor, John Moore. 

(For the record, I heard some of Moore's interview with Chow on Thursday and I thought he did a pretty good job of holding her feet to the fire on a number of contentious issues, and she did not come off looking all that well.)

Still, you don't hear that kind of open insult aimed at a competitor very often and it's rare for one station to even refer to the existence of another, however indirectly. 

First time I've heard that in the Toronto radio talk wars. Are there more volleys coming?
