The only answer so far is "early 2025," which could mean the shot-in Toronto show may be airing its second season soon. It started filming the new segments in July.
But so far the station has not confirmed an exact day or date, although I think it's safe to assume it will appear on Thursdays, where the other two L&Os simulcast with NBC. It's been given the greenlight for two more seasons.

Actually City gave Law & Order Toronto the 8pm timeslot last year and ran the original Law & Order at 7pm, so they didn't simsub it. The other Law & Order SVU which I have never watched I guess was simsubed at 9pm?

Funny, I could have sworn it was on at 7 PM. But my memory could be faulty so I'll take your word for it.
My guess for this year is that it could run at 10 PM, so they can simsub NBC's shows, now that the former L&O occupant of the last primetime slot (L&O: Organized Crime) has been moved to the Peacock streaming service and is no longer on the network. Although that might mean moving the current occupant of that slot to 7 o'clock.

I hope they've done some retooling.
The show improved with each episode, but I still think they needed to add or replace a couple of characters.
The woman police commissioner was weak and I thought the main woman character was rather bland.
It had not risen to the same quality as the other Law and Order versions that had some big stars or at least actors who grew and became big.

I have to say of all the longer running versions of Law & Order, the "Criminal Intent" one was my least favourite. It's the reason I'm not crazy about the Canadian version - it's the ludicrous know-it-all detective, who seems to be an expert on everything from art to the weather to old cars. It's just not credible that anyone would have that much knowledge around so many subjects.
I didn't like the U.S. one with Vincent D'Onofrio in the lead. While the stories were good, at some point I simply stopped believing it. It ruined the show for me. I fear the Toronto one is heading in the same direction.

Yes the Toronto Law & Order ran at 8pm last year and we talked about that various times. In fact you even mentioned about the show running at 8pm Thursday in a April 18th post regarding the episode about a radio announcer. I gave City credit giving their original show the better time slot even at the expense of simsub. They ran the US L&O at 7pm, and SVU at 9. Hope they plan to do the same in 2025.
Unless something has changed writer Bill Brioux said that City was going to continue running L&O Organized crime mid season as well. Since Peacock only runs in the US, City can still run that one as well, but I don't know if it will continue to run Thursday at 10pm.. It would make sense but I guess they could schedule it whenever they want.

I thought Organized was ok, the Stabler character is always interesting in any of the L&O's he appears in. I look forward to that series returning on CITY if paterson1 and Brioux are indeed correct.

It is to my understanding that City just figured everybody would watch straight through on City and not bother with taking advantage of the fact that NBC was not sim subbed @ 8PM.
In order to to this, one has to record something and watch it later.
Too much effort, just to see American commercials.

Correct.

Personally, I find the L&O Toronto characters rather weak. I find myself watching the show to see how many Toronto locations I can recognize.

It will be interesting to see if the momentum for L&O Toronto continues this year. The problem with many shows now is the long gaps between seasons. Season 2 again will have 10 hour long episodes, and they will repeat all of them a couple of times.
Last year, Law & Order Toronto was City's most popular program and it has been renewed to also include a season 3. I am sure they will have a major promotion push in the new year prior to season 2.

I was going to say, 'Who cares?', but apparently some around here do, so I won't.
