End of a wonderful TV show is near, after 14 years

December 13th will be the last show for Blue Bloods after a 14 year run.

There are 2 more episodes left.

I for one will miss this show, however, there is no lack of watching it on CTV Drama...

In the early years the show was filmed in Toronto, they finally located in New York, to get that NYC feel and vibe.

It will air on CBS and CTV the next 2 Fridays. One thing of note TV shows don't usually make it on Friday night. It is a dead zone ratings wise.

But, the family oriented Blue Bloods broke the curse of Friday nights and here we are 14 years later.

One of the highlights of watching was when Jimmy Buffett made an appearance and so did Lyle Lovett, who was on a few episodes..

The world would be so good if it weren't for some people...

From what I understand, despite strong ratings, the series was becoming too expensive to produce. The cast was willing to take a significant paycut to keep things going. Still not enough in the end.

I am also a fan of Blue Bloods and will miss it too. You can get a Tom Selleck fix by watching the original Magnum PI weekdays on Vision TV at 5pm. They just began running season 1 again last week.

Add me to the list of those who will miss Blue Bloods. Good stories and a great cast, headed by Tom Selleck. I also really like the supporting cast, especially Gregory Jbara and Steve Schirripa.

Re: End of a wonderful TV show is near, after 14 years

I was not a big watcher of the show, but I always enjoyed it when I did.
I've always been a big Tom Selleck fan.
I also enjoyed the series of video films he made as Jesse Stone.
Those movies are worth watching if you haven't seen them.
I wonder if there's one more series for Tom to do?
I know they rebooted Magnum, but I thought that series was just forced.
It lacked the real lightness and fun of the original.
Making Higgins a British woman and former MI6 operative (and of course with model looks) was a yawn.
Could there be at least a one-off with Tom as "old Magnum?"

if you didn't catch it, CBS ran a 1 hour special "Blue Bloods" Celebrating A Family Legacy."
It might turn up this week on the CTV streaming site.  Very enjoyable out-takes and comments by the cast and some crew members.  Also nice footage of Danny Wallberg as a "new kid on the block" and some of the song lyrics he worked into scenes of Blue Bloods.  I'm also a fan of Steve shiripa.   Wonder where he'll turn up again.

If you have a VPN set to the U.S. you can watch the special right now on CBS.com, for free.

But don't wait too long. The shows on there inevitably go to Paramount+ and eventually are no longer available.

Find it here.
