Great weather coverage...since the Weather Network can be iffy

I have mentioned Ryan Hall Y'all... He is a U.S. based YouTuber and one of the best weather forecasters.

Plus, he is a weather geek and will track, hurricanes and tornadoes with "boots on the ground". Here is today's forecast and yup, bundle up and pack a shovel!

I say he is well worth following.

All I really want to know is when it's going to start raining (or snowing) and approx. when it's going to stop. That's the only map that's of any real interest to me, but they never seem to get it right on local TV.

A few weeks ago both Global and CFTO were predicting a rainstorm in the middle of the afternoon, but assured viewers, "It's a quick mover and will be gone very fast." Five and half hours later, it was still pouring outside. That's not my definition of "fast." And of course, they never, ever acknowledged they were wrong in later newscasts.

I once worked with a meteorologist at my TV newsroom, a wonderful guy, but a bit sadistic at times. He knew how much I Hate (with a capital "H") winter, especially snow. And I'd often wander into the place in the morning and he'd accost me at the door.

"Oh, you're going to HATE what happens tomorrow!" he'd roar and then laugh as I grimaced in anticipation. Not sure what he's up to now, but what a great, hilarious guy he was. Although I still despise winter with every fibre of my being.

I'm in the winter hate club also, which is why I moved to the Greater Sudbury Area . We have 10 cm down since yesterday afternoon, and it is still snowing .

I will take windchill over humidex every time. You can always put on an extra sweater to stay warm in the winter. On a hazy, hot, humid summer day you are limited in the amount of clothing you can shed to remain comfortable.
