Fox Cable News Network Big Audience For Election On Tuesday

On the cable news side, Fox News Network had the most viewers for the US election coverage.  Worth noting that their coverage against ABC and NBC, even CBS wasn't that strong for traditional network ratings.  From TV Ratings Guide..http://www.thetvratingsguide.com/2024/11/tuesday-tv-ratings-11524-fox-news.html

Probably no way of finding out this information for CBC, CTV etc.

Bill Brioux sometimes has some ratings in his columns, so I will keep my eyes peeled.  Other than that, unless CBC or CTV releases something.  On my top 5 both CP24 and CBC were in the mix all evening long, so they must have had a fair number of viewers at least on Bell Fibe.  CNN was in first spot all evening, except for about 15 minutes when the Leaf game took top spot, and NBC Detroit came in at 5 in and out a few times when I checked.

I’d like to know how many CBS affiliates pre-empted the early coverage, thereby harming CBS’s ratings. WIVB was mentioned here as not carrying CBS coverage until 8:00, and KIRO Seattle didn’t join CBS until 8:00 Pacific Time, or 11:00 Eastern. They aired local news from 5-8 instead.

Was it just the two stations or was this more widespread among the CBS affiliates?

Perhaps those with IPTV boxes would know. I have a friend with one who has access to all the network affilliates from the top 50 markets. Unfortunately, his interest is in sports rather than politics or I would have asked him about this.

Other than 60 Minutes, CBS news division has not been performing that well for years.  Even in the morning news programs, which are tight for ratings, CBS comes in third.  ABC seems to be the favourite in the US for both morning and evening news and won the battle for the OTA networks for Tuesday's election coverage.
