Had to laugh at the bumper music CFRB used after their 7 AM news, referring to Trump's re-election: "The Bitch Is Back" by Elton John. Not sure how many got it, but it was perfect. 

Other bumper songs that radio can use today:

-It's the End Of The World As We Know It by R.E.M.
-The Worst That Could Happen by Brooklyn Bridge
-Goodbye Cruel World by James Darren

They would all be appropriate. 

It proved to me that I know NOTHING about Americans or their politics.

I caught that just now and it made me laugh, a bright spot in a dark newscast.

They just played another Elton John song that fits - Madman Across The Water.

Someone at 1010 has a good sense of humour. Well done.

It got to a point where I went with the very sedate coverage of PBS because they had the highest called scores for both candidates!       I always get a charge out of how each coverage can have differences in the called numbers.   It's a little like watching a hockey game on 4 channels, with each having a different score.     
 

I agree with Spinning Wheel, much of the information and hectic pace of the TV networks were an overload.  I preferred CBC and CTV's coverage.  While not as glitzy,  they did have some great interviews and conversations with Republican and Democrat pundits, and I appreciated the less frantic atmosphere. David Frum showed up a few times on CBC's broadcast.   PBS also fell into this slower and less techie camp, although I didn't watch them as much. 

Like I mentioned in another post CP24's results were ahead of everyone else.  CTV's usually were as well but they never matched the numbers that CP24 was putting out.  CP24 had shades of the old City TV election coverage with reports from a bar downtown filled with Americans who now live in Toronto.  Some good comments, at times funny. 

CBC did something similar with David Cochran in a Republican watch party bar in Washington interviewing the patrons.  They also had "talking to American" segments in and out of commercials with US citizens saying what they were hoping for from the election and for their country in the future.  Nice touch.

good choices all RA, a few Rage Against the Machine tunes come to mind which aren't suitable as bumper tunes

the song that really says it all for me that could be a bumper is an excellent rock tune by the band The Art of Dying called "Get Through This" which I'm playing cranked up to 11 throughout the day as a remedy for these post election down in the trumps feelings.

I heard David Muir on ABC say that he and his colleagues were on the air until 5:30 AM Wednesday morning, when they finally called it for Trump. I think others made the determination earlier, but what a long day.

I remember during one election I worked in TV - I think it was the one with John Turner, because he was based on the west coast, which delayed everything by three hours - we had to wait and wait and wait for results. By the time they tabulated them all, it was well after 3 AM.

We'd been called in to work for our election show at 2 o'clock in the afternoon the previous day. 

I'm not entirely sure how anyone stayed awake that long, and worse yet, we were expected to be right back in the next day by noon!
