Why a tyrannical country that heavily censors all communication would be running the old CBS radio show "Johnny Dollar" is beyond comprehension. But for some in Iran, it's must hear every week.
Another odd little radio story that seems to have come out of nowhere.
In Iran, the old-time US radio detective 'Johnny Dollar' returns to the airwaves

An excellent find, RA. The American version of "Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar" was a real gem that I first heard by listening to the Sirius XM Radio Classics channel, hosted by Greg Bell. There's a great deal of trivia associated with this program that I could rattle off, but in the interest of not boring everyone to death, I'll simply share this link to a whole series of the five part serial version of the show, which aired in 15 minute blocks five nights per week on participating stations. The seventy-five minute (in total) format gave the writers and actors a lot of room to flex their chops and make it truly compelling radio.

I remember listening to Johnny Dollar on WBEN. The series ended Sept 30, 1962.
