Teen Idol James Darren Dies At 88
He was the heart throb in all those Gidget movies and also a recording artist. (I still love "Goodbye Cruel World.")
And now James Darren has said goodbye to this cruel world, dying just before a scheduled heart operation.
The co-star of "The Time Tunnel" and a frequent director was 88.

I knew him as Vic Fontaine the singing hologram on Star Trek: Deep Space 9. Had no idea he was also Moondoggie.

Always liked James Darren. Later in his career he also gained fame as the holographic lounge singer, Vic Fontaine in Star Trek DS9.
Interestingly he also played Officer Corrigan in TJ Hooker which of course starred William Shatner.

His son is former CNN personality Jim Moret.

My wife is deeply saddened by the death of James Darren. She had a crush on him as Moondoggie.
